I need to send in copies of some ID to confirm my D.O.B. as well as my current address, but the list of accepted documents doesn't include a health card.

Is there a good reason for this? I know if this common for a lot of things, but why?

I would think because not all health cardes required to verify your age before issuing one to you, nor do they require a signature.

But a valid drivers license is accepted, which as far as I can tell are basically the same.

Yes, but a Valid driver's license is required by state law to verfiy your age before you are issued one. When you sign up for health insurance, they get your medical information which includes your age, but they never verify anything like your age. You are just issued a card when your contracts are signed and payment received.

But things like goverment IDs, Military IDs, passports and driver licenses, you are required to turn over things like birth certificates and social security cards, which are also not always required for insurance cards.

How many health insurance providers are there?

It would be impossible for the average person to know what all of the health cards look like. If you showed my your health card I would have no idea if it was real or fake.

I'm required to prove my D.O.B. and current address, but my driver's license has my old address on it. To confirm these things, I need the following.

D.O.B.
Birth Certificate
Driver's License
Passport

Current Address
Pay Stub
Bank Statement
etc.

I'm gonna call the company tomorrow and see what they can do, but before I do, I have a question.

Do you think they would let me send my driver's license (has my D.O.B) and my paystub/bank statement? Since the stub and statement confirm my address, should the one on the driver's license not matter? Would they make this exception (CapitalOne)? Or, could I go and get a temporary slip for an updated driver's license, and use that, since my new card wouldn't come in in time?

Either way, we'll find out. =p

What exactly is a health card? Or do you mean insurance card? I've not seen an insurance card that shows one's date of birth
