This forum is a prime example. Republicans are adept at misinformation. You have some Republicans who watch the most news (fox) who are the least informed.

Fox is more of a symptom than a problem. Those people want news that tells them what they want to hear.

Seriously guys, people don't vote on the issues for the most part. They vote their tribe.

That is the stupidest thing I've read today.
I thought it was kind of funny.

In any case, You have plainly said that poor people who want to expand or take advantage of government plans to help treat wealth disparity are thieves. I simply said that the thieves are the ones who stole the money in the first place, thus, they are not poor.

I explained it for you, PERSONAL ATTACK REMOVED

No, you should have read the post I quoted.

Income redistribution == thievery.

Your reading skills == 🙄

Yeah, I read what you posted.

You agree with the OP that social programs = income redistribution .

Then state that income redistribution = thievery.

By the transitive property of equality, you have stated that social programs = thievery, to which I can only roll my eyes.

Because Democrats have trouble organizing and establishing one view. The current Democratic party is a mix of many groups with similar interest but not identical interest. Republicans have a much easier time organizing because their world view is not as broad.

Yeah, those evil Republicans have even convinced some weak-minded people that our noble President was lying when he told us repeatedly that if you like your insurance plan you can keep it. Obviously they are truly adept at misinformation because even the insurance companies were fooled and are cancelling policies.

Dumb ass.

Because democrats aren't trying to take from the rich and give to the poor. That's not sustainable politics, since they need the rich to bankroll their campaigns and whatnot. Instead they take from the middle and give to the poor. The rich aren't adversely impacted. Meanwhile the republicans, financed by the same people, are taking from everyone and giving to the rich. The rich aren't adversely impacted.

I guess what I'm getting at here is that no matter what, the rich aren't adversely impacted. They are almost always able to outmaneuver any system of laws put in place that might be detrimental to them. Just look at France, they went all out after the rich and lost.

Well I guess 1 for 20 isn't bad!/s

theirs is a platform of wealth distribution in which their constituents are the beneficiaries of these entitlements.
and there are far fewer rich people than poor, so why aren't they winning in just about every district in the US?

Obviously, 1984 is late...

Let me fix your quote for you

Dumb ass.

There you go.

Take a look at this forum topic. You would think, someone would take a second and think about something like this before even posting it. But, like I said, Republicans, the master of misinformation.

White House Press conferences are fixed

They are thievery. It's stealing capital from the private sector to fund an expansion of government and the salaries of government bureaucrats. Welfare isn't thievery? It costs $35/hour to provide welfare to 1 recipient, even though the average American only earns $22/hour. The welfare recipient isn't receiving that much, the majority of that is consumed by the government mafia.

You see the average government worker makes a lot more (like 50% more) than the average private sector employee, even though they produce nothing and only consume the wealth produced from the private sector.

Because the democrats found the redistributing income from the poor and middle class to the rich is more productive since the rich give more money back in the form of bribes. So in the end, the poor will probably vote the democrats out of office (even the most hardcore liberals predict a massive loss both houses in the 2016 elections).

I think most midterm election go against the party who controls the white house.

But, I for the life of me cannot figure out what the Republicans stand for. I don't understand where their philosophies originate or the scholarship behind their economics. Who are the intellectuals of the party? I feel like it's a tactical party, shifting one way or the other depending on the day and what position may net them the most votes.

I've never seen much in the way of intelligence from either party. Almost everything they say is designed to generate an emotional response. Voters that act on emotion are easy to manipulate, easy to control. This is why the promise of "change" works so well. It inspires a belief that there will be something better, the hope that the old evils will be ended once and for all, what it really means is nothing. It's an empty term, completely meaningless in the political arena, and yet it's used as a rallying cry in almost every election. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, thats change.

This is real troll catcher thread.

I find it pretty amusing myself that FOX is the one running the new COSMO's series I'm loving, and even their own affiliates have been having fits over it, like OK City blocking it out.

I'm a vet myself, have several vets in the family, frig my Grandfather had 5 Bronze Stars among other things in WWII, and he was embarrassed and mad about some things the GOP were doing before he passed away a couple years ago.

He couldn't believe how low the country had dropped to.

I'd elaborate more one why they aren't, but I'm sure I'd get in mucho trouble.

*edit* 1984 was late even before 1984.

I can agree with your point on the atmospherics of the elections. But underneath that, I genuinely believe the Democrats have good policy backed by sound science. So, they run to actually do something. Republicans? Besides all the campaign slogans of the GOP, what message are they actually pushing? What would they do differently economy wise (more tax cuts), internationally (more war), prevent poverty (cut the minimum wage)?

I sat and watched some of CPAC and behind all the flowery language I couldn't figure out what the Republicans plank was. Not singular issues (gun rights and religious stuff) but a broad policy that average people could get behind and would make their lives better. The vast swath of Republicans genuinely vote against their interests because they are so misinformed or maybe just don't care.

Lastly, I watched Sarah Palin say, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke" and the crowd cheered and screamed. That is the lasting image of Republicans. Crazy!
