Why are you a fanboy?

I'm a Nvidia fanboy because I've had a lot of problems with ATI drivers. For example, switching from 3.10 drivers to 4.6 causes an 80% drop in frame rate in Neverwinter Nights.

So what's your story? Why do you like one company over the others?

I've never owned an ATI/nVidia card for my home PC - always used Matrox cards and currently running Parhelia. I've always found the cards/drivers to be very stable and they last a while (2 years + currently) without needing an upgrade.

That said, I don't think I'll have much option next time I upgrade, so will have to consider ATI/nVidia

Right now I have ATI cards in my machines, a 9600xt and a 9800 pro modded to an xt. I don't consider myself a fanboy, I go after what's cheapest that provides the highest quality.

I have to say, it took me a long time to use an ATI card. I worked for a video game company and before the Radeon series was released their drivers were crap. So for a long time I used Nvidia based cards.

I got burned by nVidia far back in the days, even before the Riva TNT. By burned, I mean that I bought the card for $20 more than what I could have paid 2 weeks later. I've been an ATi fanboy ever since.

You shouldn't judge a company by the prices they sell their products at. Like a car, the moment it leaves the show room floor, its price rops 10k. The same goes for video cards, but at an even larger markdown.

When ATi first came out with the 9700 Pro. :D Naw, j/k. Before that I was a nVIdiot and then an ATi 4 eVaR and now I'm sold on the nVidia 6800 GT. I lack the funds to buy it though...:( donations welcome. :p

I've been mostly an nVidia customer since the TNT came out. Quite a nice card at the time too.
I've also owned cards with chipsets made by:

Trident - 9750, slow thing, no DirectX support until a year or so after the card's release
Intel - i740. Not bad, but not great.
ATi - 9700 Pro and 9500. Very nice cards.
S3 - generic 4MB PCI cards
3dfx - a Voodoo Banshee card. Didn't do any gaming with it, so I can't comment. I just got it cause it was cheap at the time, and I needed a videocard.

Same here,I choose my card on value for money and performance not brand, infact I own an ATI card and Geforce card , can`t say I`ve had any drivers problems with either , so what`s all the fuss about driver problems :p .

Remember Driver Cleaner is your friend ;),it can`t fix problems but can ensure a clean install of drivers.

I have used nvidia for the most part. But I did try the 9500pro and the 9700np. Hence, I am back with nvidia and I currently don't see a reason for me to change that. I wouldn't say that I am a fanboy only because I was willing to try ATI. A true fanboy would have stuck needles in his/her eyes before doing that.

Not a fanboy really, but I have been sticking with Ati lately. I had an Asus 6800 (GF1 DDR) and a Radeon1 DDR card at the same time and liked the Ati IQ better, plus the games I was playing at the time seemed to maintain a higher minimum framerate. When my Asus 6800 died an early death, I just continued on with Ati. Never seem to have any of the driver issues.

You've got to be kidding... I hope your kidding..

No, I'm being SERIOUS.

$1.25US/minute, or $20US/incident. Too bad, so sad. At least emailing them is still free I think.

I have both an Nvidia and ATI card in my possession. Still use em both. Never had a problem with either one. Whatever is easiest on my wallet and makes my system happiest is what works for me.

I always seemed to have ati cards . . . they always seem to be cheaper when i upgrade. :p

That said - i am extremely P.O.'d at BOTH nVidia and ATI; i really looked forward to a new x800xt or a 6800u - after TWO months of waiting, i simply gave up and upgraded to a cheap ($223) 9800 "XT".

Still ati

could have been a 6950u. ;)

Free but useless. I emailed ATI when the drivers on the site for the Radeon 7200 didn't work at all. ATI responded telling me that the Radeon 7200 wasn't meant to run on Windows XP

lol, i got a radeon 7200 working on a windows xp system that i built, but i think its using one of the older drivers. I'm not a fanboy, just choose whichever card is the best. Right now running a Radeon 9800np, before that I had a gf3ti500, gf2 GTS-V, Voodoo5 PCI and a Voodoo2.

I like nVidia because all the kidiots like ATI. You'll never hear something like "teh r0xx0rz iz nVidia olololol if u lyke ATI u r dum n suxx0rz roflolololmaopimp ololo u sux u dumihed". You'll hear many ATI fanboys (fanboiz?) type like that though. Too bad 10-14 year olds are allowed on the internet :( :p

The only fanboy I am is a Nintendo fanboy and I completely admit it :) They make the greatest games imho . Legend Of zelda, metroid, eternal darkness, Mario, etc.... My fanboy rant is now over.
You may proceed sir :)
