Why are women so fussy about the toilet seat being down?

The optimum solution to the whole toilet seat debacle is to leave the toilet seat the way it is after you are done. E.g., if a guy goes pee, he should lift the toilet seat up and leave it up after he's done.

Shower (sitting with the seat up) takes 10 minutes. Cleaning the bathroom (peeing with the seat down) takes 30-60 or more minutes.

And I can't ever remember peeing with the seat up. You'd think with an even more serious (in terms of the 'eww' factor, although cleaning a bathroom does take more time) consequence for not checking, they'd be more apt to. For that matter I've never not checked before dropping a load. It must be similar to driving in some way I'm not aware of.

I lived w/ a girl who b!tched about the toilet seat being up - she fell in more than once and somehow it was MY fault!

Well I got tired of having to do all the toilet seat work to pee. You have to lift the seat & put it down, sounds simple but a pointless hassle to me.
WHY should the guy do all the work? WTF is that. Women have it made in this area. They just sit down & pee- nothing to do!
So to piss her off (no pun, really) I would put both the seat & lid down. GENIUS! And when both the lid & seat weren't down I would bitch at her.

Needless to say she didn't like this. Now she had to lift the lid & put it down, sounds simple doesn't it.
The same amount of work I had to do she couldn't stand it. We fought over this and other mindless nothings till we broke up.

Thank God the girl I'm dating now has enough damn sense to check.

For those who "fall in":

Next time you use the bathroom, look at the soap dish and be looking at it when you flip the light switch. I guarantee you will see a roach or 2 quickly scurry away. (They eat soap, so they spend a lot of time on the soap dish).

So next time you go peeing blind, remember, you are not alone. Just think of all the friends that might be crawling around under the seat and onto your legs.

My solution is - close the whole dang thing, lid and all. Then everybody does the same amount of work. Toilets look gross sitting open, simple as that. The lid's there for a reason, even if it is only appearance. I've never fallen in a toilet, and I have no deep and abiding fear of that happening.
