I know they don't consume a lot of power and that they're environmentally friendly, but their color gamut is so low. NTSC color gamut shouldn't be less than 95%. Twould be nice if my Apple 24" had a higher color gamut and 120 Hz input.
Will LCDs die out before RGB LEDs can take off, or will at least 1/3 of next years models RGB LEDs? What percentage of next years LCD do you guestimate will be RGB LED? Also, will any of them offer 120 Hz input (I thought that HDMI 1.4 had enough bandwidth for 1080p @ 120 Hz)?
It would be nice to have a glossy (yes I know that the extra vibrance is at the expense of accuracy) H/Alpha IPS with minimal processing (no overdrive), 120 Hz input, low power consumption w/ all high quality circuitry, and an RGB LED. A 24 or even 27 inch couldn't be more than $1.2K, could it? I would get a glossy OLED, but they don't have 120 Hz input.
