I've heard people say its because the quality is much better, but I'm not sure I believe that.

Actually Mr. Fitty, a much smaller LCD TV like the ones Samsung make cost about 2x-3x as much as an equally-sized PC LCD. I haven't seen any mainstream LCD TVs over 20'', and they again cost $2 to 3K compared to a 20'' LCD that might cost $1k.

Out of interest, where can you buy a 15inch LCD TV from?
Ive NEVER seen something that small that is "Just a TV".
An LCD is pretty much an LCD.

A Liquid Crystal Display?
Yea?
I've seen a widescreen Samsung 22" LCD TV. It was $$$$, but then again, so are TFT monitors that size.Actually Mr. Fitty, a much smaller LCD TV like the ones Samsung make cost about 2x-3x as much as an equally-sized PC LCD. oooooooh nooooo you havnt have you.
Whats the average LCD TV size? between 30 & 40 inches perhaps?

Yeah, that's pretty good. BUT it's not the same. All of the lcd TVs that I've seen have been HDTVs with HDTV tuners and have the proper shape rather than the shape of a computer monitor. It's nothing more than an LCD with a TV tuner. Big deal. Still, it's pretty nice.

13" LCD TV for $800? I think that's what the original poster was wondering about. That's not widescreen or special in any way. And it's only 13".
