Yeah, it's to align the trackpad with the alphabetic keyboard. That doesn't make it any better, though: it forces you to aim your view (or your wrists) slightly off-centre.
I don't like that so many PC builders insist on including a number pad on their notebooks. You know who uses them these days? Accountants! They're dead weight for most everyone else. Just give me a larger keyboard or better speakers and I'll be content.

I almost always use my cordless laptop mouse. Just used to a mouse.
