Why are Thunderbirds cheaper than classic Athlons?

yeah, but they are cheaper to manufacture since the cache is on the die. the socket a is also cheaper to manufacture than the slot a. another reason for the low price is to take away customers from intel.

AMD would very much like to completely phase out the older slot processors and have tried to do so by gutting prices on the new Thunderbirds. Makes me happy, why spend $$$ on an intel.
