Why are they shooting off fireworks...

Anyone know when the main fireworks show starts in Anchorage, Alaska? Well...sunset silly!

Sunset was 11:33PM today. I was startled by some explosions out my windows...almost spilled my adult beverage. Midnight and the booms continue.

Why are they so loud, you ask?

Well, I guess the baseball field next to the Sullivan Arena are the shoot off point. I can spit that far out my bedroom window. Geesh, those things are loud.

I went outside and sat with the skeeters and watched a pretty durn good show.

Oh, BTW, Gangstah Joe rollin on dubs...your stereo can't compete with the show and the great people of Alaska will boo you as you roll by.
 
Me and some other friends stopped shooting at about 1:30AM when it started raining out, and I am sure the people in the apartment complex were glad that we stopped, so they could get some sleep. I had some rather nice firecrackers, the type that you cannot buy in the U.S., nice big boomers.
It was great fun, I had over $300 dollars worth of stuff that I have shot off the last couple of nights and still have a big tub full of the smaller stuff, sky rockets, roman candles, firecrackers, etc.
