Why are there so many Sony haters on ATOT?

Seems like every thread that I read regarding HD-DVD/Blue Ray and PS3/360, there are always Sony haters. Or are the MS haters less vocal?

This is how I see it. MS already OWNS the OS market in the world, thus owning your PCs home and at work. Why would us as consumers want MS to gain an even larger share of our beloved technology.

HD-DVD or 360 do you really want one company to influence of how we work and now how we play?

What OS does your PC run on? What would you do with your PC with out Windows?
Do you have a non-graphic related job? What word processor or spreadsheet or email do you use?

I think the Sony hate rose to an all time high when they decided to put rootkits on millions of CD's without telling people. Afterwards virus and malware makers purposely exploited the rootkit for their own malicious purposes.

Whatever has pissed us off most recently is what we're vocal about. It's not because they're a mega corporation. Sony has been absolutely retarded in how they've handled the entire PS3 release, along with things such as the rootkit debacle. Their product quality has also decreased tremendously, with their TV lines being a major saving grace. The hatred they have right now is earned.

The only reason I like them is because the PS line of consoles have had the games I like. If Square Enix or Atlas (another company that helps bring over amazing RPG/Strategy type games) jump ship, Sony can crash and burn for all I care (as long as Nintendo keeps being competitive that is).

If MS starts acting as retarded as Sony has as a company, you'll see people hating them more vocally in the future. Related to this is the 360. The build quality is atrocious and people on the forums are very vocal about it, with it keeping some members from purchasing the console.

Windows. If it wasn't windows then I would use linux. My job is up in the air right now, but I usually do PC hardware or electrical work. I use MS Word and Excel, but there are others out there to use if I wanted.

And yes, I know I took it a bit literally

it's because this forum is very tech savy, and we aren't stupid to what is going on at sony. we are aware of all of their lies in the business, all of their fsck ups, and of the stupid ass rootkit software they pushed.

people on this forum don't hate sony for no reason. the reason is pretty justified IMO.

I haven't said much about Sony lately. To be honest though, they have had some major Quality Control problems in both the PS2 and PS3....and for this reason, I will continue to be a PC gamer. My PCs aren't black boxes and can be repaired without the hassel of shipping it off to a manufacturer for repair.

The initial investment on a sub $200 system (The Wii will be there soon) is much easier to 'bite off' than a hit-or-miss system even if it does have superior graphics.

What quality control problems have they had with the PS3? The only thing I've seen is the loud Canadian PS3s which was an isolated incident. Demo units do not count.

there is no reason not to use it as it works just fine. if a company wants to spend thousands of $$$ on ms products when a great alternative is available then so be it, but i would hardly say it is a blip on the radar, unless you consider all the linux distros just a blip on the radar

1. They use their reputation for high quality to churn out cheap quality junk and sell it for premium prices. Much of their consumer electronics stuff sucks, although I hear their TVs are good. I personally have been burned by the PS2 (disc read error), a DVD player (C 13:00 error, very common), and my wife's laptop, so that's $2000 right there down the tubes.

I have no problems with Sony.. I'll probibly grab a PS3 at the end of the year once more games start coming out. I made the mistake of getting a 360 at launch.. I got stuck with a launch console, that bascially sat there for almost a year before any games of interest came out. (Now it is getting quite a bit of use though)
