Why are there not any stock roms available for the Thunderbolt?

I'm thinking of jumping back into the rooting game like I did with the Incredible and I'm looking for a plain, non-customized Android 2.3 gingerbread rom. All of the one's I've researched had some sort of ugly modification put on it. I don't want any of these "TEH HAXOR OMGFZBBQ!!!11!!11" messages on my lock screen or really ugly font choices with 8 bit pixolated characters on my notifications panel.

I looked at Cyanogen mod 7 and from what little I can tell you have to jump through hoops to get the 4g lte radio working by downloading some new version or something, and it's not actually from the development team but a port from someone. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Err. OMFGB and CM7 both allow you to edit the lockscreen messages. And the Notification pull downs. With the recent builds, I don't believe there's major issues with LTE any more either. I'm rocking CM7 RC1.4 right now, didn't have any issues with LTE. Debating about flipping back to the latest OMFGB nightlies.

However, they do both have problems with restoring homescreen configs from ADW.Ex though, makes a restore a bit of a pain.

Edit - I almost forgot about OMGB.

Its pretty basic Gingerbread, from what I understand. OMFGB gets more of the special sauce though, and more dev attention.

Sweet, I had the OMG gingerbread rom and I really dug it for the Incredible. It's the OMFG rom that I thought was a little bit childish.

FWIW, I ran CM7 w/ Launcher Pro for a long time and it was excellent. I can't speak to the LTE radio specifics, since I'm on a Wimax device, but they finally got that right on the Evo.

I'd suggest Launcher Pro as a purchase over the included ADW, since it's GPU-accelerated and has some widgets that are really the only good replacements I've seen for some of the Sense functionality - especially the Bookmarks widget.

If you insist on ADW, grab Colorize for its Bookmark widget. It's good too.

LOL, I like my large breasted anime boot screen...

Have been running a version of dasBAMF for months now. The team uses rootzwiki instead of XDA for releases now.

Am hopeful the developers sort out the ThunderBolt like they did the EVO. The EVO rooms are damn good after a year of refinement...

I finally got this device rooted and let me tell you none of the instructions that you see at one website out there are the complete set of instructions. Android Central tells you how to root it, but they don't make things clear on how to do an s-off. I had to look at another forum altogether while doing that... what a scary experience. Still, now I got cyanogen running on it and while I'll admit I miss sense a little... I'll probably get over it in a day or two.
