There are hardcore tailgater types that have 'em.

We've had guests bring them at our private island. They aren't ported and quite tame, about as loud as a smaller home use type leaf blower.

Granted, a ported Husky 3120XP motor topping 15K rpm with a 2.40 gearbox would be interesting. That setup puts out 8+ kW peak.

Forget blending phones, that sucker could handle DVR HD cable boxes!

Behold: The Coolest Cooler a la Kickstarter - a cooler with a built-in blender!

Until you're presented with a frozen margarita miles from a source of power.

You plan on grinding up ice with a human-powered blender?

Get back to me when that is accomplished before the ice melts, and you actually have a shaved-ice-like product and not giant pearls.

Not a blender, but I have a lot of time on old school ice crushers, and ice shavers. The ice shaver would be especially good for drinks.

Modding is hacking. The term's been taken over by the media to refer to breaking security, or cracking, but that's only a subset of hacking. A hack is any clever, or undocumented solution to a problem.
Is "replace small motor with big motor" really all that clever or undocumented?

Or is it just because they're not meant to accept upgrades?

There's gotta be a line somewhere... *scowl*

You haven't lived until you've had authentic Hawaiian shave ice from a hand-cranked ice shaving machine. Works better than any blender could for the purpose. Shave some ice, dump in some fresh lime juice, tequila and triple sec and to hell with the blender.

Dammit, now I really want a margarita snow cone.

Still a hack. Not all hacks have to be amazing, just like all jokes don't have to be funny. A knock knock joke is still a joke, even though it's pretty lame.

Blender with pulse action will function in fastest speed, but will also stop if you release its pulse button. You can give chopping control to the blending when you’re satisfied with the food’s texture.
