why are the trucker hats so popular now??

at my college...i see a whole bunch of those hats... last year i saw them around.. but this year, it's everywhere i look!!

 
Wow, they're popular now? Maybe my dad had an influenced. He's been wearing them for years. He's got like literally 50 of them he's picked up over the years (all for free! such as from bait shop, mechanic shops, etc).
 
Jesus, I can't believe these are selling for $15 now...you used to be able to get them at K-Mart for $0.99 when they weren't 'cool.'
 
they've been around my area as a "trendy" thing for over a year now... but its essentially because they are "counter-cultural" but not anymore, now that they've become the norm... tis the paradox of fashion.... or at least this realm of fashion
 
I started wearing one this summer, then everyone did when it became trendy for emo kids. I think I was behind the trend, I just didn't realize they were in style.
 
I was just at a concert on campus. I commented to my mate that so many kids are still wearing them. Trucker hats are SO last year.

I blame Avril whatever her last name is. I could get all the (GENUINE) trucker hats I want for $1 at a store by the college I went to... too bad I don't suck, otherwise I'd buy them all and be the coolest guy in the world.
 
Another fashion trend... that and the fact that a lot of people wear them in every position on their head instead of forward. It's cool to have them crooked to the side, haha
 
I've never heard them referred to as trucker hats. I remember people calling them fly swatters back in elementary schools. The kids that wore them got teased like hell for it.

I hate "trucker hats"... First off because American eagle now sells them with fake company names like "Jim's trucking", with a clipart picture of a truck.. (boy, how original.) and second, because they are stupid, and every awesome highschool kid that wears them wears it with the bill sticking up in the air and to the side of their head.

Hats aren't for fashion, they are for comfort and personality.
