The last thing I heard, Mr Obama is saying the US will its troops out of Iraq in 16 months. But I am not sure exactly what that means.

Hulk, If you want to spew the conservative evaluations of the banking meltdown, take it to a different thread, this thread is supposed to be about Iraq, Iraq, and Iraq.

Meanwhile back in Iraq, Moonbean is right, in GWB too many trusted, and in GWB everyone busted. Call GWB conservative, neocon, liberal, or radical if its trips your labeling fancy, it still added up to failure.

Getting into Iraq was easy, the far harder question is how do we get out without everything degenerating into a far more dangerous civil war?

Hulk was replying to "Moonbeam" who seems to have missed the fact that this thread is about Iraq and not about the bank meltdowns that have a heavy lack of regulation aspects to it it also.

Moonbeam started the off topic, why not go after him first instead of Hulk ???

Are you stupid or something?

I'm asking a question.
Asking a question makes one stupid?

When I'm driving my car down the road at 60 mph how come when I step on the brakes the car doesn't stop?

Your brakes stopped working ???? :Q

Because now Obama is in office? He can do no wrong. All this talk about getting out of Iraq, ra ra, was just that. Now he says "we need to be realistic" which is what Bush and everyone was saying all along.

Obama hasn't even been in office for 2 weeks, but he's already a "failure", because he didn't fulfill his campaign promises on the afternoon of his inauguration...

And the Rightie-tighties are reading his mind, too, telling us what he will and won't do in the months and years ahead, as if they have a clue, wrapped in their own bitter delusions.

Get over yourselves, guys. You lost, and for good reason. Those of us who opposed the Bushistas and their gut level propaganda appeal to delusion didn't create the current mess- you did, getting chumped by the lootocracy.

You can't lead, so it's time to follow or get out of the way.

After six years of absolute power and two years of straight up obstructionism, the repubs proved beyond a shadow of a doubt what they are capable of in the way of crashing our Nation smack into the ground. They were busy spending their creditability on stuff like a needless self-enriching war based on now-proven lies, on drastically tilting the table of prosperity toward the very rich, on deregulating corruption and encouraging profiteering, on praising the troops and then tossing their needs aside at the moment they were maimed enough to be declared welfare recipients and a drain on THEIR taxes and on and on and on.

I keep that in mind every single time I read one of their posts about how our Country should be run.

It puts things into proper perspective.

Heh, the whole point of making it about WOMD was that this was a reason that enough people would believe to enable us to go over there and set up a place of stability right in the middle of the hotbed of the Middle East. I can't believe you all are still going on about it being a lie. Duh, give it a rest, the point was that it was an opportunity to make a decision that would further America's influence on the rest of the world in a good way, which is always a good thing, for obvious reasons.

As for the comment on the troops, I suppose you'd rather have the democrats handle it-- just cut funding for the troops so they don't have enough money for bullet proof vests, and new gear that will help save their lives. Better to just let them die so they can't suck on welfare, right? That's how the dem-senate voted.

I agree.. I laughed at the "Bush lied" crowd. No kidding he lied, he had too. It was his job, as we have an open media and his needed to spoon feed the press.
