Has NE1 ever been to The Buckle? I went to one in Durham yesterday with my GF and one today in Raleigh and BOTH times, the g were right up my ass trying to get me to buy stuff. They brought shirts and pants to me saying how "Oh, this will look good on you." Well damn, let me find my own stuff!!! I couldn't go 2 minutes without them pestering me. Even my GF was ready to bitch slap them.

I know that they are trying to push a sale, but COME ON!!! I ended up spending $74 yesterday and $20 there today, so it's not like they had to keep pushing me. I work on my own pace when shopping and don't need a prod up my a$$:|

Salesdrone - "Try this on. Your ass will not look nearly so fat in it!" :)

NFS4 - "What did the five fingers say to the face?"

Salesdrone -

NFS4 - SLAP! "I'm NFS4, bitch!"

They never bother me. If someone pushy like that does, I just firmly look them in the eye and in a tone where they know I mean business, I say "If I need your help I'll ask for it".

they actually have a game for the buckle. you try to walk in, touch the back wall and then walk out with no one asking to help you. Very hard to win at this game.

I had a roomate that worked at the buckle...they get MAJOR incentives if they make a certain % of total sales at the end of the day...like they all are compeating for 75-90% off clothes BUT thats not all they have to meet a certain quota each day as well and if they aren't close to that quota at the end of the day they get screwed on pay. Its a great place to work if your REALLY into clothes and don't mind bugging people but i think a horrible business model overall just to annoy customers..

Need to change it to spending 5 minutes in the place, but need to take shots each time some asks to help you.

well buddy i don't recomend it. i tried it once and well they started chasing me i can hear one screaming in the background "try this on" and as i try to go faster his voice gets closer and closer and im running and running and before you know it a shirt hits me in the back of the head and i hear him screaming to everybody else " i got him, i got im". when the shirt hit my head it forced my head down almost to the floor i thought i was about to fall and my life would have been over but no since i was able to think quickly i put one hand down on the floor to regain my balance and kept on running trying to find an exit.

the end

i refuse to disclose the rest of the story

thank you and goodnight

Walmart's got their "10 foot rule" - greet a customer if you come within 10 feet of them, and ask if they need anything, how they're doing, etc...if every employee obeyed that, we'd be scaring people out of the store, screaming "LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!!!" Management thinks it's a great idea...but they also think that having having the employees gather in a group on the salesfloor for a meeting, and chant "Gimme a W....Gimme an A....etc" in full view of customers, is a great way of improving morale. If anything, it's embarrasing. Fortunately, I work nights - they do the cheering on dayshift. Best quote from a customer observing the daily fiasco - "Is the circus in town?" Just one more reason why I think Walmart is the Special Olympics of the retail world.
Oops, wandered off topic there again.

I never shopped at the Buckle for that same reason. When I want help, I'll ask for help. When I want to browse and take things at my own pace, I don't want someone pestering me. Of course, in a good store, the help will arrive instantly when I want it.

Lol, I still can't believe they do that. I had the misfortune to witness that once. It was frightening. Kind of like a wally world cult.

And yes, the salespeople at the Buckle annoy the crap out of me. I try to put on my (pathetic) mean face when I go in there to discourage them, but it never works :(. You could probably go in there with a bloody hockey mask and lab coat, carrying a running chainsaw with brains on it, and they'd come up to you saying "OOOOhhh, this shirt would go SO GREAT with that mask!"
