Why are the NBA playoffs so boring this year?

Maybe it's all the excitement we get from the NHL playoffs, the NBA playoffs simply pale in comparison...

Also do you notice there's rarely any upsets in the NBA... whereas in the NHL upsets is the story this year in the playoffs...

It's all because Kobe & the Lakers are out of it already. No real stars to hype on commercials that gay barney Tim Duncan & J. Kidd. <ahh.... hoping the Lakers get Kidd in off season>

you think the NBA playoffs have been boring this year? Maybe your problem is that you're watching the East Coast, not the West. I mean, the 3 time defending champions got knocked out, Dallas has gone to 2 7-game series, Dallas upsetted the Kings with an injured Chris Webber, Minnesota almost defeats the Lakers, Portland comes back down 3-0 to bring Dallas to 7, Detroit comes back to upset the Magic, Detroit comes back in the next series, Nets have manhandled everyone, Suns give the Spurs a little scare...I mean, this years playoffs have been crazy

You talk alot of sh1t about the eastern conference when western conference isn't even exciting at all besides maybe the Sacramento Kings.

Ya, the West has been pretty fun to watch this year. The East is a joke and unless you're a fan of one the eastern teams, there's no reason to watch them. Since my team "Toronto" is out, i find the West much more interesting.

agreed

last year i had practically given up on the NBA, this year, i see the possibility of some serious excitement for the next couple of years, especially if Kidd stays in the East, detroit gets better with the 1st round draft pick, Sixers somehow get better with New head coach, Magic continues to improve, Hornets stay healthy all season, never mind what's happening in the west.

also, if kidd stays with NJ and Duncan with the Spurs that could make for an interesting rivalry,

I think the NBA is back to the Magic Bird type era, and the stink of the MJ era is gone.

haha...yeah, those injuries are about on the same scale. I know it hurt the lakers in losing those two...but mean, c'mon...kings lost webber...he was the heart and soul of that team.

I had to go channel surfing this season just to find what network some of the games were on.

Webber is better than Fox or George! The impact wasn't the same on the team. George filled in for Fox fairly well. He only missed one game or 2, and those injuries didn't really affect the series. The Kings lost their best player which made the Dallas/Sac series a whole lot more interesting than it would have been. :p

It will be more interesting next year when Yao and the Rockets are in the playoffs. Count on it.

My 4 favorite teams are out of it.. I could care less who wins.

Lakers/Kings/Pistons/Magic.. well, atleast the Pistons get the #2 pick in the draft. ;)

But these playoffs have been exciting. The matchups have been pretty even except with the Nets last 2 series. I mean, watching game 7s and watching injuries occur and change the momentum of series has been much more entertaining than say a 15-1 march through the playoffs that the Lakers did a bit back. I'm not saying that because I don't like the Lakers, but watching one team dominate isn't really fun for anyone excpet the fans of that team.

lol. I love listening to the retarded comments these guys make. Especially Walton. They should throw Charles Barkley in that mix.

Larry Brown should just settle down and coach a new team every month of the season. :D

They had better be in the playoffs next year. If they don't make it, then they know that there must be some serious management of coaching issues. If they only ran their offense through the big man....but as long as they keep playing 1 on 1, it's going to be tough for them
