Why are the moderators getting involved in this thread?

Zero and I mean zero reasons for any moderator involvement in a thread such as this. If this is a new course of action then I understand, but private websites and blogs have been linked here numerous times and their author's have complained. No action was taken and none was needed. This situation was the same. It is completely insane to for anything to result from the thread except a general warning to all those who post pictures and photographs on their site.

Having multiple accounts is something that you can be banned for. I've not been following OT much lately, but from quickly skimming those threads, it appears that HK had another account (supposedly). If that was true, then the Moderators didn't do anything wrong by banning him/her. That's the rule, after all.

She's had that username for many months now and it's been widely known who she was. If the mods wanted to ban her for that, they could've done it a long time ago.
