The connect 3d version is a steal.
But yes, if youre gonna spend lots of cash, the 7800 is much faster.
Not just a little bit, a LOT. And because of its performance its also a better deal for the money. It'll last longer.

dont get that card unless its the same price as the gto2. also, for that much, you should get a 7800 or x1800

1st. Why The ****** would you buy from Tiger direct? you'll be screwed in service if any problems come up, as well as the horrible prices.
2nd. $4xx is not cheap for a x850xtpe.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814142046 ($359)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814129048 ($362)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102596 ($249, with a bios update, it will be almost guranteed to be as fast as a x850xt, and a VERY good chance as fast as a X850XTPE)

I wouls imagine Sapphire and Connect 3d get the most cores due to the colse parterships they have with ati(either sapphire, or connect 3d makes all the BBA cards for Europe i think)

now thatmeans both companies have huge supplies of R480.
Sapphire spreads that stock over the low sales x850xt/xtpe and high sales gto2
connect just has the x850 so it naturally has more of them, and according to supply sand demand...
