I don't think you outta give up OCing that desktop yet. Especially since the multi seems unlocked (indicates it's a pre-week 39 of 2003 chip).
If you want, PM me or post the procedure you are using to OC it. Also the specs (PSU etc.) and what cooler you are using. I see by your other post that the vcore is set to 1.85v. You may be having temp problem.
If you wrote down the stepping codes b4 you installed, let me know what they are. The older Bartons were pretty good OCer's. Many reached 3200+ on stock vcore of 1.65v.
I got one of the first locked ones :| and decided to go with a mobile (see my sig it's an IQYHA) because I ran into heat problems due to high vcore needed to reach 3200+ speeds (I did get to FSB 192mhz before heat probs). Didn't feel like blowing the $ on an expensive heatsink. I had another use for the desktop anyway.

hmmm well I seem to be rock solid at 216x10.5 = 2252.... wish I could get a little higher though...
Well that seems to be about my limit.
I am at 1.875
2.7
1.7
1.5
Running at 10.5x216=2.27ghz around 46C idle 56C full load... im in a hot college room right now though, so once winter rolls around, I think the temps will go down quite a bit....
Memory is 11 2 2 2.5 and I turned off the AGP and FSB rate thing, and enabled the CPU OCin, and I am also running at 3/3 ratio...
Good luck OCin to all of you and thanks for the help!

No way dude, I still run my Barton 2500+ @ 3200+ and have had no issues as an avid gamer. In fact, that combined with my 6800GT plays BF 2 just fine with max details (no AA) at 1680x1050. My Barton will keep me going strong until after Christmas when I will probably pick up a X2 4400 or something along those lines
For the OP, you can still get the 2500+ for cheap on certain sites, all they need is a simple switch from 166 to 200 fsb and you have a 3200+. If you want to do a real oc get a mobile barton 2500+, those can hit 2.4ghz pretty easily
