Why are some men so ignorant.....

I have been playing Counterstrike for the last month or two. I have gotten pretty good, and actually have days where I am really good. My question though relates to some of the men who play this game. The second they find out I am a woman, the problem begins. I am not talking about jokes, which I find funny. I am the first one to laugh when somebody says something cute or funny. But I cannot tell you how many times some guy that I have beaten will start calling me names. And not just names, but nasty ones, like wh*** and b****, and start ranting about how I can perform various sexual acts upon their person. Then I hear I must be a lesbian, or a man in disguise, because women cannot play like that. The best one I heard though is that "Counterstrike is a man's game, women should not be allowed to play it." And I am not the only one who hears this. Ask any woman who online games, and she will tell you the same thing.

I play at Neo's, and I play on public servers. At Neo's 99% of the guys are awesome, and they are the ones who taught me how to play. But on public servers (and one or two of the guys at Neo's) men get bent over the fact they are beaten by a woman. Why does it matter to them so much? Would it really make a difference if I went in there with the name Steve instead of Colleen? I just wonder why some men feel so threatened by a woman, that even in a game they feel the need to react this way. It really is sad. This is the 21st century boys, wake up and smell the estrogen.

Just ignore the little pre-pubescents...I think it's great that some women play games. In fact, one of the best Q3A players I have ever played was this cute girl at a LAN party. Now a girl who plays games... my type of girl.

The problem, girlfriday, is that children and little boys are ignorant. I see a lot of players like the ones you mentioned. I am guessing most of them are sexually-frustrated little teenage boys, not &quot;men&quot; It sucks, but you just have to ignore them, which takes time I know. I could care less what gender someone is. If they kick my ass, hey.. They kicked my ass! It's supposed to be fun damnit, and that's the only reason I play. Yes, I enjoy winning, but I could care less if my name isn't at the top of the frag count. All that matters is if at the end of the game, you can say &quot;man, that was fun.. I gotta do that again sometime&quot;. Hence why I play at Neo's even though I generally suck. It's fun, not because the server is so technically superior, but because the poeple there for the most part are really cool to play with. No one seems to be playing for the sole reason to get their name at the top of the frag count list so they can feel 3l33t.

That said, I think most guys that would do that to you are probably insecure 14-17 year old yiddiots going through puberty. They probably feel they must belittle someone, because of their small penis size or whatnot. I just call it small d*ck syndrom, and chalk a lot of idiot activity to that disease.

Don't take it personally, as these are just generally morons who won't amount to much in life. You'll have the last laugh.

I'd love to have a GF who could kick my ass in CS, quake, or whatever. I'm proud to say my woman can wh00p me at checkers any day of the week, and any tetris-like puzzle game out there.

Well, its likely because the average age to IQ ratio of CS players (or Q3 players, etc...) is around 13/75. Now before all the CS fans here hit that &quot;Reply&quot; button to flame me - the group here and at Neo's are some of the few players WAAAAAAY above that average (i.e. smart and mature)... which makes the sheer amount of stupidity and immaturity on the other end of the scale (in order to balance all of you out) staggering to say the least.

GF, Neo, and the rest of you CS fans here - unfortunately I think you are all a rare minority of intelligence in online gaming!

Most of the men I have played CS with have been great, but I have also experienced the name calling. Honestly I could care less, it just shows how ignorant and pathetic some people are. Besides it triples my joy when I get to kill them in CS, I know how furious they are when a wh*** and b**** kills them!
