Why are some flash drives ReadyBoost ready and some not?

The above Kingston DataTraveler 100 8GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable) Model DT100/8GB drive is clearly labeled "not ReadyBoost ready" or "not for ReadyBoost" (I don't remember which).
I was curious as to what makes a flash drive ReadyBoost ready. Is it the speed of the drive? Or is is just an approval thing, like getting your drivers certified?
 
Speed of the drive. It was found in RB testing that even some of the 'fast' drives really only had 'some' fast memory and the rest was slower flash. So the drives that are RB ready are indeed fast enough to use with it, many many pre-vista drives simply arent.
