Why are some businesses closed on Mondays?

I notice ALOT of chinese restaurants and barbers are closed on Mondays. Why are most of theses places closed?
 
Small businesses, family owned and run. Stay open all weekend for the customers, must close on one day, Monday usually slow.

 
Because they are small shops that are open all weekend and the boss wants to get at least one day off each week. For barbers, Monday is traditional. For restaurants, Monday is usually the slowest day of the week.
 
Because the other ones in the area are open on a Monday and you want one days rest so you close on the day that they are open and or quiet day for you. We have a few places Open on a Sunday so we close on a Sunday and have the afternoons off on a Monday.

This other Sandwich/ coffee shop is open 7 days week though.

theres an italian restaurant near where i work thats clsoed on mondays. there's another restaurant down the street from that place thats closed also.
