In Iowa, republicans in the Iowa legislation are about to allow all children to legally purchase, own, and carry around a gun.

Wow way to totally misrepresent something or more accurately just flat out lie.

The proposed legislation actually would allow children 14 or younger to possess “a pistol, revolver or the ammunition” under parental supervision.

Hell my Dad had me firing his handguns when I was 8 yrs old under his strict supervision. This is about parental rights. No kids will be able to purchase own or carry a gun. They will be able to handle and fire a hand gun when properly supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

I find it so funny when anti-gun crazies are all about making the public safe until they arent. Teaching a kid how to properly use a gun under supervision? The sky is falling!

There's a reason why car insurance for teenagers is super expensive. And it's not because parents aren't teaching them how to operate cars safely.

Slightly different question: why are some people so obsessed with Drudge Report?

Because Yahoo is for yahoos?

Wrong answer! Correct answer is: "Because it is easier to sell fear ..."

Next question: How much money Drudge Report make by selling fear and uncertainty?
(You don't have to answer that, it is just homework and food for thought)

Homework #2: Find the approximate multiplier to find how much money NRA makes by selling the most appropriate tool to take care of this fear and uncertainty.

They learned by watching the governments of the world. The capitalist vs communist and the communist vs capitalist then all vs the terrorist. Next step (if we last long enough) humans vs aliens.

It has been shown to work.

Americans like guns because of phallic symbolism. Just like the Saturn 5 is the most bad ass machine ever built. I thought this was obvious, duh.

Simple answer? Sales.
The NRA devised their mastermind two part scheme.
First... dupe all Americans into being afraid of everything. Afraid of blacks, Mexicans, their neighbors, their friends, the government, and afraid of their own family members.
Second... push a gun as the answer to all their problems, pay congress into going along, then SALE THOSE GUNS!

In Iowa, republicans in the Iowa legislation are about to allow all children to legally purchase, own, and carry around a gun.
This could be the game changer over that friendly game of marbles.
"MOMMY... Billy beat me and won all my marbles. but I got even. I blew his f-king head off."

"D minus? Teacher? Really? You gave me a D minus on my math test? Teacher, are you kidding? Teach, you wouldn't want to reconsider that grade now would you?
Because teach, being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question teach: Did Billy possibly deserve an A+ ?"
"Well teach? Do YOU feel lucky?"

"I did not ask for this iPhone 6, daddy. I asked for the 6S. Not the 6. The 6S. Now daddy dear, is it going to be the 6S? Or, do we have a problem here father dear? Lock n load!"

Your insane diatribe is not what scares me.

Its that you actually believe what you said.

My grandparents in Virginia were avid hunters and owned lots of shotguns and such.

In the rural parts of the country you legitimately may need a gun to protect yourself from bears and shit like that.

Back in the great depression my great grandmother watched the farm with a magnum tucked in her apron while my great grandad looked for work. Unemployed desperate men would sometimes wonder through the farm, try to steal the crops, beg for work, etc. etc.

Basically its a necessity in really remote areas. This is true in Australia, Canada, etc. even with strict gun control.

Weapons have been a part of many histories. They're all just tools to make it easier to injure or kill other people. Guns are a technological development that made the process more efficient, and potentially safer for the person using the weapon due to the increased distance between fighters.

I'd guess that people before guns liked playing with things like swords or bows and arrows, at least those who could afford them, much like now.
They're all tools that serve as extensions or enhancements of your own built-in manual weaponry, giving a feeling of wielding power or control.

The loud noise probably triggers some ancient, innate thing, like deep bass in a piece of music, just adding to the whole experience.

First of all, I grew up without guns and afraid of guns.

Once I got exposed to shooting and handling guns. I started to appreciate the "fascination". I love mechanical things and I collect mechanical watches. Now I am collecting guns. Simply put, guns are cool.

However, I support tighter background check and stricter safety measures. California has some of the dumbest gun laws that backfires. What we need from both sides is education and communication. The gun nuts are simply, NUTS!!! Ammon Bundy anyone? The gun control nuts are NUTTY as well. 10 round magazine rule?? How stupid.

Lastly, don't believe for a second the manufacturers and NRA are not united to generate more sales and price hike. They are. They have made President Obama the number 1 gun salesman of all time.

Obama made Obama the number one gun salesman of all time. Every time he opens his mouth about restrictions people flock to the gun store.

Problem with background check is that it can check only history (i.e., past). A criminal becomes one only after committing a crime, but by then background check is meaningless.

so what are you saying? Get rid of background check? You think the current system is sufficient as is? What is it?

I haven't heard much "restrictions" from the President's mouth, but I do get emails and see ads doing the scare tactic all the time, then I hear the gun nuts repeating the same over and over and over.....

Really? The Assault Weapons Ban of 2013 had Obama all over it. Including bans on assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

You mean Feinstein's unsuccessful "assault weapon ban" attempt immediately after Sandy Hook?

Fact is, that President Obama is not some crazy gun control nut. He understands people love their guns and he is never going to "come and take them away". He didn't get elected by being an idiot. Give him some credit, this is the United States of America after all. Some of it is politics, the tears, the scripted speeches. Innocent people died. What else did you expect? Did you actually expect him to encourage buying more guns??? Not even Reagan had balls big enough for that.

So when Obama said we need to limit magazine capacity and ban assault weapons 8 days before Feinstein introduced the bill it was just a coincidence?

Now imagine what you would get from President Diane Feinstein instead.

Feinstein's attempt was not an attempt to take away our guns by any stretch of imagination. It was a mis-guided action by those who don't understand the gun culture. That's easily fixable, as long as the two sides are willing to compromise and understand each other. I don't see much of that going on, and I see all the hatred from the right. It baffles me.

The ads from NRA and gun crazy idiot on the other hand....yikes. They belong in communist regime propaganda. I can't believe people believe that crap.

You are arguing for the sake of winning an argument (choosing specific topics). So let's talk about the topics you chose:

Restrict guns: What does this even mean? Are they proposing you can only have one gun in your life time? 50 guns in a year? Restriction on guns have different meaning to different people.

High capacity magazine: Personally, I absolutely despise this restriction. However, I am willing to compromise a bit in order to buy a magazine that hold more than 10 rounds. Obama and that soccer mom next door can have the biometric safety, but I'll take a high capacity magazine.

Assault Weapon: Learn to educate the public (and the politicians) what an assault weapon is, because frankly, even I don't understand what an "assault weapon" is. How do we ban something we don't even know? Propaganda only turns people off (most people, some people follow that $hi#).

We don't live in a perfect World. Sometimes, it requires negotiation to get things done, the left has dealt their card, but the right refuses to talk. Well, no wonder we may end up with President Donald Trump instead.
