Why are so many girls choosing psychology as a major?

Suffice to say, I take a very active role in encouraging students to pursue employable majors. I can kick myself for ever watching students go major in something, get a 4 year degree with good grades, and struggle to find a job anywhere. I know longer sit passively by.

Out of curiosity, since I'm unfamiliar with the job outlook,
international business & economics (dual major) major university
for a student whose GPA after 4 years will be damn close to a 4.0, and will be active in various organizations at school, actively seek internships, etc. (won't be one of those sits in the dorm room for 4 years types of students)

Job outlook?

Chose the right parents or, has connections? Banking.
Working class? International sales /marketing /factoring
Politically aware? Public service /FBI
Build an education and employers will come? Nada.

Lol. I bet 90% of kids in university today have never even seen a graph like that. I know I didn't.

I also forgot to mention that a lot of kids in psychology when I was in university with Arts students. You needed a mandatory science credit and I guess it was considered a bird course. I took astronomy instead with all the business students. If I were to go into a scientific field, I think I would have liked to go into astronomy or astrophysics. That stuff is endlessly fascinating. Could never grasp the complex math behind it though.

Eff, if I went back, I'd either do psychology or anthropology.

The trick to anthropology is probably to specialize in archaeology and do another major in native American studies, then do at least a masters. Jobs available doing archaeology for construction (i.e. support engineering) and in guberment.
