Why are reposts so bad?

Not everyone sees everything. I would be afraid to talk to you people on the phone.

yeah, repost police are crazed around here. i mean, i understand when people just point it out...but there are so many people that take on a little bit of a Higher tone when pointing it out. as though you've spent all day making sure that you dont re-tell information to ATOT...

I don't disagree, and IMO the repost Nazis waste more space than the reposts themselves. That said, it is not uncommon for people to repost things that are, at the same moment, still visible on the first page of ATOT, which is just stupid, and on balance it probably makes sense to lock gratuitous reposts.

The only time I say something is when something has been reposted 15 times in the past week. People come on the forums and think they are the first to hear about stuff and don't check for posts about it.

its not the reposts from a few days ago that bothers me.. its the reposts of the same exact topic thats still in the 1st page!

If it's something posted 8 times within the last day and a half, then I think mentioning that it's a Repost, along with a link to the original thread, should be ok.

If it's something posted over a month ago, then leave it
