LOL that's not what happened when I kicked your ass several times. I got in your head and kept coming at you until you logged (possibly crying to mommy, or posted here when you can pretend how much of a trash talker you are). LMAO.

You were talking like you're such a bad ass but in reality you're: 1. a horrible player, and 2. even whinier than everyone else. Just admit it :D

I think you got the wrong person, because I was too busy snogging your mom (your sister was too sore from the night before so she had to sit out) to be playing games.

What the hell does taking care of your family has anything to do with talking shit in video games. Sounds like someone got bullied too much in online video games that he has to throw in a random tangent about taking care of his family.

In case you didn't read the thread....

real men are naturally competitive, you have to be serious to play hard and trash talking is usually a part of that regardless of what your playing...can't take it then play bejweled or something. in it to win it

There's nothing random about understanding the "bro" culture and the way they behave in any social situation, and I've heard the real man excuse for being an ass too many times to count.

Being good at competitive events has nothing to do with acting that way. It's a sure sign of lack of maturity and intelligence.

Well, it's a pretty dumb fucking reason and excuse if you interprets Darkvision's post that trash talking is part of being a "real man". Being a real man has nothing to do with trash talking, because playing in online games with a shit ton of other people, I sure as fuck don't know who a 'real man' is, and I don't really care to know. What it's all about in the context of a video game is how much ass you are kicking and how bad you are making the other players feel when you're doing it.

And here is where I disagree.

Disagree about what, isn't that what shit talking is about.

I sure as hell don't shit talk in Starcraft 2 because I'm horrible at it and I have nothing to back up my trash talk, so all my smart ass comments fall wayside. But in Battlefield 3, I can at least get people so pissed off they tunnel vision on me and lose focus on everything else.

My biggest complaint is why are they so good?

I'm an extremely casual player. I play BF3 maybe a hour a week. You can guess what happens when I play online. I get owned.

You enjoy that garbage. I don't.

Simple.

Being good and enjoying online gaming for me has nothing to do with trash talking.

I just turn Voice off or join a server that use there own channel or whatever so then that way I don't have to listen to the ridiculous children and stooges. There's no other game have I ever heard more dumb asses in the same place at the same time then in MW2 hence the main reason why I am now playing BFBC2 & Vietnam and I am loving it great great game IMHO.

I think for me CS shit talking, bad mouthing and general voice chat and text chat asshattery is one of the reasons I play that game still. I rarely say anything and LMAO at all of it. That is just part of CS. On the flip side, trash talking etc in Starcraft, Eve, or some big complex game? That's just stupid as all get out.

Yeah, thanks captain obvious, of course the virtual simulation of dipping my balls into someone's face is an act of immaturity. Trash talking itself is an act of immaturity, duh. It's what makes it fun and irreverent. It doesn't matter how old you are or what station in life you are at, when you play an online game with strangers, everyone are on equal footing until one start sucking more than others. Stop treating multiplayer games like actual real world interaction, BECAUSE IT"S NOT.

Tell you what, you're welcome to be a classy gentleman all you like in a video games, me on the other hand will not hesitate to dip my hairy virtual balls into your mouth repeatedly whenever I kill you.

It apparently wasn't obvious as you said I didn't mention immaturity as a reason.

Congrats on being part of the problem the OP was referring to. I don't expect you to think it is a problem otherwise you probably wouldn't do it. But it is the reason so much online gaming is a complete cesspool. It *is* an interaction with other people. That is the point. Acting like a d-bag make you a d-bag, in game or otherwise.

I don't need intelligent discourse but I don't want gaming to feel like I'm hanging out in the back of a middle school bus.

It's redundant to say immaturity is another reason for trash talking, as if there's a mature way to trash talk. Failed at trying to sound smart with your pseudo intellect, but cool story bro. And who says there's a problem, sounds like you're just butthurt by trash talkers so it's a problem to you.

People act like dbags online because there's no repercussion. If you do that at the arcade the guy next to you has the option of punching your face in. You be a dbag at the bar and you can be SURE someone will punch your face in.

Kids online can talk as much shit as they want and nothing will happen.

99% of the people who talk mad trash in gaming are complete noobs. My personal experience. Rarely do you see someone who is genuinely really good talk smack. It happens, but not much.

And here you stand a poster child for immaturity defending your dbag behavior behind the idea that it must be because I'm "butthurt". You intentionally act like a moron and act like others should enjoy your moron antics. If you are unable to comprehend that then you aren't just acting immature in game you clearly have maturity issues period.

For me the problem isn't trash talking to me, I don't give a shit about morons, and trash talkers are universally moronic. It is when there's some new player, or some bad player and these morons gang up on them and give them an endless stream of shit until they leave. Those people are terrible, they ruin game communities and they ought to feel bad but instead they celebrate it. I don't know how sad your life must be to intentionally ruin someone's game but it is pathetic.

People that say "chill out bro, it's just a game" royally piss me off. Especially coming from someone who is cheating or griefing. Most aggravating thing in the world.

Thanks for clearing that up, I did not know that talking trash in a bar could lead to getting punched in the face. What other fascinating tidbit are you sharing with us next? Scientology is a whacked religion?

I find that the worse the player is, the more they trash talk.

No, the best players have a way of completely dismissing worse players with trash talk.
