A friend of mine helped get together a bunch of people to go snowboarding today. It really sounded like it could be fun and i was looking forward to it.
Everything was going great at Stevens Pass till my snowboard was stolen. We stopped mid-day to eat lunch and when we went back my board was gone. Everyones board was there except mine.I put so much work into cleaning the board of stickers, putting in the bindings and stomp pad. The board was brand new, Salmon Transfer with Flow bindings, cost me over 400 bucks... why are people so evil sometimes. Its not like a snowboard is something vital for them to survive like food, although wrong i can understand. I really liked that board... =(
Well anyways after it was stolen i reported it to the lost and found person. They took down some information about the board and when it happened but nothing much. My friends went to finish some more runs and i just stayed back. That really sucked alot too, i still wanted to go up for a couple more hours but i have no board to use.
I decided i should really do something to catch this guy. I know the chances of my snowboard being recovered would be slim to none, but as long as people like him are caught it'll be worth it. I couldnt stand it if i know this person is running around stealing more of other people's hard earned equipment.
So i went to talk directly with a sercurity officer. We talked for a bit about what happened and i told him i really want to help catch this guy. They took me down to a lower level inside one of the buildings where they housed the cameras around the lodges. We went over the tape and it seemed like it would be hopeless because the camera was moved over not looking at the rack i put my board on. Luckily the camera was moved back and we finally saw who stole my board. We saw him walk pass the racks and took the board right off and continued walking away. Though the angle was bad we have a decent description of the person. It would at least help the patrol to catch him if he tries to steal again.
i dont think i cant do much else to help catch this guy but at least i tried. I really hope he's caught someday...
if any anandtechers know of anything else i should do please let me know... and anyone in washington see a blue salomon transfer 157 at a pawn shop or something.. let me know...
