Why are people so damn rude?

So I was sitting in the drive-thru at the bank making some deposits for work. There is one person in front of me, 3-4 minutes pass, I start to wonder whats taking so long. Couple more minutes tick by, I start getting a bit testy.

Then his hand sticks out the window, and he has his deposit stuff in his hand! He was spending that whole time blocking the drive-thru FILLING OUT HIS DAMN FORMS! I had to use my Zen training to keep from having a complete nervous break down.

Why are people so fvcking rude? Do they not know better, or do people have no respect for the common courtesy to others anymore?

I'm going to give you the best advice you've heard in a long time. If you're in a rush, avoid the drive-thru. With drive-thrus, fast food is no longer fast, prompt service is no longer prompt, and you spend more time parked than you do driving through. Avoid the drive thrus

But to answer your question, some people don't care. If i were you I seriously would have got out of my car, walked up to the drive-thru window or machine and done my banking, and then walked back to my car and been done with it (well you'd have to wait for the chump ahead of you to leave).

Both. People suck sometimes...and it's not always good.

1) They just don't care about anyone but themselves.
2) They have no clue that anyone else out there exists.

Yeah I got a similar story, I was at the drive thru at the bank and was waiting for this lady infront of me for like 5 minutes, so she finally gets her money, but did she pull out? nooooo, she decided to sit their fumbling through her purse for five minutes putting her money away and doing who the hell knows what else, i got on her tail and starting reving my engine, no go. So i finally just started honking the horn like it was the end of the world, that let her know.

I don't know where you guys are from but drive-thru's in banks? I guess I'm too young for that. I see the drive-thru lanes at the banks around here, but no one uses them or they're closed down.

What really pisses me is how slow service is today. Once in awhile, you'll get a decent waiter/waitress or bank teller who knows what he/she is doing and you'll be surprised at how well things went. Then there's the usual newbie who doesn't know what's going on and is rediculous.

I am with GL avoid drive thrus at all cost, they are the worst of queing theory. You have to wait for the slowest person. Go inside where most banks, the post office and fast food joints have a single line feeding multible registers, this gives the best through put. The lesson is if you go thru the drive thru, take your licks because you must not be in a hurry.

Oh, yeah, if there is no line go ahead and use the drive thru.

People are in a hurry and just plain inconsiderate.
I had a lady pull in front of me in the drive thru at BK (there was two entrances and I thought she was just going thru the line so I left an opening).
I got out of my car and this stupid lady lowers the window to talk to me. The whole time I am on my cell and I tell my friend to listen while I give this lady a raft of sh--. I laid into her for about 3-4 minutes about being courteous and what not, she told me that I should have been paying attention and not chatting on the phone. I lit up. She had who I assumed to be her 8 year old son with her and I started counselling him. Telling him not to grow up like his inconsiderate wicked (then I used about 15 four letter words in a row to describe his mother) bitc-. Then I looked at her and asked her if it was worth her time now.
hmmph. Maybe I am the rude one.

Wow, how nice of you. When people start acting like that, I take longer just to piss them off. People need to relax, the world is not going to end in that 5 minutes. So, sit back, turn on the radio, enjoy some tunes...

I don't mind people taking their time. It is just when they are so completely inconsiderate of others.
It also happens a lot on the road because people think they can get away with it without any confrontation.
ie. People always cutting you off on the exit ramp but nobody cutting in front of you at the movie ticket booth because they know you will say something. (unless you enjoy people walking over you)
