Probably the same reason they are so scared of Funda Mental Cases, they believe that it is a mental illness that is contagious.

People revile those who have the courage to be themselves. Everyone puts so much effort into conforming, and when they see somebody who isn't and is successful... they are filled with self loathing and hatred.

Why is it that if someone does not agree with the gay lifestyle and prefers not to be around gays that they are somehow "afraid" of them? I guess if you demonize someone's POV then you feel you have won the arguement? I don't care one way or another and I have known gay people and can hang out with them when the circumstances warrant it but I choose not to be around gay people for the most part....but that does not mean I am afraid of them, I simply have NOTHING in common with them.

I'm not unless they start hitting on you or talking to you about things you'd rather not talk to a gay person about...

by the way...why did you start this? are you gay?

Wow. One thing seperates you from them (gay people in general): sexual orientation. And you say you have NOTHING in common with all gay people? You are afraid of them.

No, you are wrong. How am I afraid of them. I have had some casual friends that were gay back in college but it seems they hang out with mostly gay people and it just wasn't my scene. I couldn't get into the discussions they were having and I was out of place. One on one was a different story but that only happened occasionally at the bar now and again. Having a different sexual orientaiton changes a lot about their lives from what a straight person is used to whether you like it or not. If I saw this person today I would still consider him my friend but I fear none of them are left as most of the gays I knew back them are now dead from AIDS.
