Why are PCP&C PSUs not high efficency?

MAKE?? PCP&C e-pee-pee does not make/build PSUs...This is a FACT.

http://www.win-tact.com.tw/ builds the Turbo series and the Silencer series is built by Seasonic.

The high price of a PCP&C pays for advertising and customer support. They do offer a good
product that's highly over rated=fanboyism.
In the last four months two PCP&C 510s have been posted in the C&C Forum that blew up/fried.

Note: One might have been posted in the Technical Support Forum.
Note2: Our local PR boy for PCP&C chilled both threads via PM so PCP&C would loose little face.

no power supply to date will get 90% efficiancy, but anything 80+ certified does 80% minimum. Why are you considering pcp&c? If you have that much cash, get a zippy.

Actually I don`t need to be told anything...
I will take my reliabilty and quality and workmanship and peace of mind knowing full well that years from now my PSU will still be running....

Again I know this is hard for you to swallow but PC Power & Cooling stand on there own reputation.......
Define over priced? especially when there are now quite a few PSU`s in that price range....

Bottom line is you get what you pay for and PC Power & Cooling does a real fine job!!
Zippy does a real nice job also...as do other brands....yet I use PC Power & Cooling...as do alot of other people on these forums and we all are sold on the quality and dependability which really does count for alot...as BobtheLost previously said-- PCP&C didn't make efficent PSUs as they didn't think that was important, just as they didn't make quiet PSUs as they didn't think that was important either. As the market's changed so has their product range and it's features. The newer models are more efficent and have all the mod cons like thermally controlled fans.


The Bottom line is simple...you can buy whatever you want.....nobody is forcing you to buy a PC Power & Cooling unit....

The argument they are way over priced is just a bunch of shizza brought on because people can`t find anything wrong with them....in fact that over priced crap is just that an old argument at best....

If they are so over priced then why are they still in buisness?

There reputation speaks for itself....plus they are very heavily involved in the non consumer markets also......

Its sad when somebody who has a good following and is a respected member on these forums has to resort to out and out lies concerning a PSU brand!! I know it was probably wishful thinking on this persons part that somebody would post that there PC Power & Cooling PSU blew up but thats was just not the case as this prson dreamed it would happen!!

Sure anything is possible and YES all brands have things go wrong in individual PSU`s from time to time including Zippy and Enhance...

Also it sure is interesting that somebody would join these forums with only say 12 posts and all of a sudden ther PSU would blow up....and it would be a PC Power & Cooling PSU...

makes ya wonder if there was a set up....say somebody on 2 niks.......lolol

actually a lot of people who know much more than you or i have had them apart and have in fact compared them and found that they are the same stuff for the most part. it's not them taking the guts, it's pcp&c having seasonic make the psus to their specs.

I've actually taken several apart myself. They are not identical units. Some similarities? Sure. But PC P&C does not equal Seasonic dropped right in a different shell. That's an outright lie and anyone spewing garbage like that is trolling.

So...Put it back on me. 😀 The techs over at badcaps.net are one good source. Read thier PSU forum please. http://www.win-tact.com.tw/ does in fact build the Turbo series for PCP&C. They use Teapo caps, the same as Enhance and many others do. No Nipponese goodies inside these expensive units.

Hell no.

Bose research and develop their own stuff, built to their own specific designs.

PCP&C are rebadgers - they buy complete products from whoever their favoured supplier is and put their name on it.
 
Whats intresting is through this whole thing you have people saying this is whats happenning and you have others saying I have friends or these people know or even better I know for a fact when the facts don`t add up!!

The basic facts are very simple...

1-- Since we all know that PC Power & Cooling is made by another company we can agree on that as a fact!!

2--Since some would go as far as to call them rebadged and even say that they are similar to other brands may I make an astute observation?
Most PSU`s look like each other......inside there are CAPs and heatsinks...etc...
Yet nobody has ever taken one apart and done a side by side comparison recently....if I am wrong please prove me wrong....

3-- Other people use the badcaps.com site as if it was 100% accurate in all its assertions.
yet they have never come out and said the PC Powrer & Cooling PSU looks exactly like any other PSU...in fact they have said PC Power & Cooling does something to there PSU`s before they hit the consumers.....
I find it funny how people use words such as similar or even go the extra mile to suggest that a company would make such a solidly built and reliable PSU such as PC Power & Cooling and they would NOT make a brand under there own label of the same model.....hmmmm
Or in other words...say Company X is contractd out to make a super reliable ubber high quality PSU that gets raves everywherre it is reviewed when it comes to ripple....tech specs etc.
Does it not stand tyo reason that Company X would be quick to jump on the bandwagon and also put out a PSU of exact quaility using the Company X brand name?

4-- Then we get to product and development and in house enginers......which they do have...
As such they do in house assembly as well as some in house modifications -- which would explain why Company X couldnot reporduce a Company X version.....hmmmmm

5-- Then we get to people who have such strong opinions but cannot back up what they are saying...
Some reviewers having such strong opinions yet readily admitting they have never taken apart or even reviewed a PC Power & Cooling PSU in the last few years....

6-- Even the good knowledgeable people at badcaps.com have all stated they have never looked inside a PC Power & Cooling PSU recently...within the last 2 years....they even speculate...

Bottom line is nobody is forcing anybody to buy a PC Power & Cooling PSU....
Yet at the same time I would rather own a "rebadged" PSU that has stood the test of time that is known for its quality and workmanship and reliability.

People make that word "rebadged" out to be something sinister....or even deceptive...
There are all kinds of products that are rebadhed....mobo`s....CD/DVD players...etc....

Yet when all is said and done its really foolhardy to actually believe that a company like PC Power & Cooling would ever ship a PSU out the door without checking it out first and it even makes alot of sense to believe that they would do something as in add to there PSU before shipping to the customer.

Yet the bottom line is people have wadded in on this thread who have never owned a PC Power & Cooling PSU.....
People have qustioned their quality and there workmanship too and including saying things that just were not true(it was proven they were not true-- PM me I will show you)) -- yet these same people don`t own one and have no clue from hands on experience.

There is nothing wrong with a rebadged PSU as long as you know where it is coming from and from talking with other people Other companies like PC Power & Cooling have there own engineers that change the end product.

The bottom line is.....
Never before in the history of PSU`s has there been so many solid well built quality PSU`s on the market....
It really is a buyers market.......the prices vary a whole lot but even your lesser known PSU`s are not all that bad compared to a few years ago...

Even modular PSU`s are becoming widely accepted...

The bototm line really is buy a PSU that you like and enjoy your computing expeirence!!

Whether it be Antec....Enermax....Seasonic...Zippy...Enhance....PC Power & Cooling...Zalman.......there are alot of good quality PSU`s on the market.

YES things will always go wrong but for the most part everybody is sort of on a level playing field including price wise.....notice how prices for the better PSU`s are creeping up and some are as expensive as PC Power & Cooling....

I own 3 of these monsters...but then again.....I am not so closed minded to other brands that I will not make the above statement....
Whether it be Antec....Enermax....Seasonic...Zippy...Enhance....PC Power & Cooling...Zalman.......there are alot of good quality PSU`s on the market.


Bottom line its not a game.....people talk about bad caps...or ER...or loud fans or bling bling.......

The PSU is the most important purchase you will ever make for your Computer.....do it wisely!!

Of course PC P&C has (and should have) in-house engineers. They need people who know what their PSUs have to do, and it wouldn't be very smart to gloss over QC at their end... but what exactly is it that they do to the PSUs that they receive from Win-tact and Seasonic? Even if they were minor tweaks (and they'd have to be) which the OEM could certainly do themselves, does PC P&C have the manpower to do it to every PSU they receive?
