Why are old TVs still expensive?

Im just looking for a crappy used 27-36 inch tube..well not crappy, but at least in good shape and not 50 years old. They all cost upwards of $200...bleh if if im gonna spend that much money, I might as well buy an LCD. I just want some crap for my room.

Because it still has some intrinsic value. There's a minimum price that it makes sense to sell a TV for. Below that, why not just keep it?

You can get a new 27" at Costco for $220.

32" for $400.
