Why are my VIDEO CAPTURES like 50 megs for 10 seconds?

10 seconds = 6.5 megs

It is quite obvious now that newly captured video are all un-compressed. I currently use Bink/Rad Video Tools and compress my clips on Divx. Usually when you change to an Mpeg -4 codec, you might instantly see around 3-5X deduction in space.

But don't compress the audio when capturing. It'll often end up out of sync.

Yeah, you need to check the settings on whatever you are using to capture video.
