A couple weeks ago I fractured my foot. I've been wearing a boot thing ever since and because of that I haven't been to the gym. Today, though, my quads are sore as if I had done squats yesterday...

The only thing I did yesterday was a few pushups and pullups, but not to failure. I didn't walk much or anything.
The day before yesterday I did walk around a good amount

so, why are they sore?

If you're wearing a boot, it adds a lot of weight to the lower leg. When you're walking, you have to swing that part of the leg forward with each step. Because of that, it requires a lot more work to be done by the quads. Perhaps you walked around more or tweaked it during exercise. Are your quads sore like you've been working out or sore like a more painful feeling? If it's just sore, you should be alright. You're just accommodating for the extra weight on your leg.

I would guess it's the boot you're wearing changing the way you walk, and your quads are used to it yet.

It's a lot like a bad pair of shoes can make your knees and back hurt.
