Why are my pings 2 SECONDS in Unreal Tournament, on DSL???

In the past I used to reliably get 60-90 ms pings on DSL (Sympatico PPPoE). Now I'm getting anywhere from 100 ms to 2000 ms :Q on good servers. WTH???

I thought it might be my network, so I've bypassed it all. Now I'm hooked up to my DSL modem directly. Same thing.

Pinging websites still gives me 20-90 ms pings. It's just that with any UT server it's absolute crap.

This is with two different computers and two different LAN cards.
