Why are my DIVX Encoded videos looking all grainy? PIC/VIDEO

I am attempting to encode a vidcap I have of my g/f, but it keeps encoding all grainy. Here's a shot of the ORIGINAL, unencoded.



Here's the VIDEO, encoded in 2 pass, 1,450k/sec with divx 5.02. Why does it look like crap?

I get the same results... blue screen with sound.

why did u lower the resolution. was the source straight from a dv cam? did u mess with quantisizer? should be 12max 2 min.

finished downloading it, it seems your quants are wrong or your not setting the bitrate really.. its on high compression somehow. u vdubbing it?

Why is it only 28 fps? Btw, I had to open the file with a media player that could open incomplete downloads.

Check the original post. I ran it through two-pass, at a HIGH bitrate. The original capture was taken from a HI8 Handycam. I have no idea what a "quantisizer" is. What FPS should it be? I did use Vdub to change from raw AVI to divx...

Because Divx is lame. Use Quicktime.

try wmv if your not happy with divix, the windows movie maker is part of XP

Looks fine to me. The colors aren't good but the resolution looks decent. Definitely use GMC like nefrodite said tho.
