Why are MSRP and TMV listed as the same price on edmunds?

I'm not sure if it is that way for every new car, but for the 2003 Nissan Sentra SER, the True market value is 17,539. That is also the MSRP for the vehicle. They can't possiblly be saying people pay sticker for the car, can they?

Or they just do not have enough information yet

Yeah, but is the SER really in that high a demand? I mean the new Z I can understand paying sticker for it if you want it, and while i don't deny the SER is a nice car, its not worth paying sticker, but thats just my opinion.

tmv is a joke; dont ever pay for it unless ur a sucker buying a super hot car

honestly theres no reason one should be able to get 100-300 above invoice at worst in most (99%) of cars

Sometimes their information is not up to date. Could be the supply is less than the demand on that car.

Agreed. However, the way some people buy cars, TMV would be a great price for them. It doesn't do you any good to get the dealer down on the price and then be "had" by the finance manager who pushes fabric treatments and polishes on you at over-inflated prices. :(

Sticker price is a joke. I've gotten discounts on cars that people are supposidly paying premiums over sticker. Suckers.

Fax all the Nissan dealers in your area for the options that you want with the colors that you want.

Tell them you are faxing to all the dealers in the area (100 miles or so) then ask them for their best price. Takes about 2 days but you get a good price and could probably haggle down a bit more as well.

That is how I got my truck. faxed to tons of dealers, then had them all fighting over my buisness. had 2 dealers with same price whou would not go any lower. then I started with add-ons. I finaly ended up getting my 34k sticker truck for $23.000 out the door with a free bedliner :D
