Why are men's voices more distinctive than women's?

If you notice, there aren't a whole lot of impersonations done of females, mostly males. And when you listen to the radio, a lot of the female dj's tend to sound alike. Why?

Because the male dj's can be slightly different while the female dj's are usually hired for the same attributes (voice-wise?)

Certainly not true for singing voices.

For speaking voices the scarcity of impressions is probably because Hollywood offers many more and better roles for male character actors than it does for females. Fewer distinctive character roles = fewer distinctive voices.

For DJs, you're probably listening to Clear Channel, the McDonalds of radio, where variety is just too darn threatening to corporate profits.

I think it has something to do with men's ability to completely blurr out what women say in an attempt to stop the incesent nagging.

You'd sound like a dj female too if you were on your knees and had to talk with their mouth full. ;)
