Well you see, I was meeting with McDonald's to attempt to sell them my company's ketchup for use in their restaurants (this was a long time ago, before most of you were born). However, McDonald's had pulled a fast one and had our chief competitor meet at the same time (I won't say the competitor's name for legal reasons).
So, we're all in this room and the McDonald's spokesperson listens to this great speech from the competitor's salesman and then says to me, "and why would we pick your company's ketchup over theirs?"
So I say, "Well, you see, our ketchup is fancy and people will love knowing they are eating fancy ketchup!"
He laughs and says, "well, ok, let's say your ketchup is 'fancy'. How will anyone really know when it's in little condiment packets?"
So I says, "Simple! Print 'Fancy' on the packet! People will love it!"
Then the McDonald's guy and I went to the pub for a long night on his expense account while my competitor went home crying.
True story!

It's not in their advantage for people to drink faster, unless they charge for refills (the ones I know don't).Originally posted by: brunswickite
have you guys also noticed Mcdonald straws are wider then the average straw? This is probably so you can drink your 48 oz super mega drum of coke quicker.

That's because it's nearly impossible to suck a McDonald's milkshake through a standard straw unless you're a porn star!![]()

Wrong, it's so you can drink their SHAKES easier. that's the thing that Wendys and BK never got, have you ever tried drinking one of their shakes throw their tiny weak @ss straws? no thank you, the mcd's straws (wider and thicker material) is much better.
