Why are Matrix showings starting so early on the 14th?

I was planning on going to a 12:01 showing, but it looks like the first showings are starting at 10:00 and 10:20 on Wednesday...

What's up with that?

hmm thats really odd since it isnt "released" until thursday showing the movie on weds would be odd. It might jsut be that theatre is trying to show it earlier to avoid huge amounts of people, but im not sure if it violates something with the movie producer since they are showing before the release date... hell if i could get tickets for a 10 weds night showing id go... cant go to the thursday morning one.. got a final that morning at 8:30.... damn calculus

Yeah, some theaters are showing it early on Wed. I'm going to see it at 11:30pm. There is an earlier showing, 10.30 for that theater too, but I couldn't get tickets for it.

KingNothing and I are going at the 10:05 showing. Definitely going to be the highlight of next week.

Oh I believe it - but it doesn't sound "right", in that it's a breach of the rules!

Maybe they're allowed to start showing it at midnight eastern time, and in farther west times zones they can start playing it as early as 9:00?

Just a guess.

I thought you were right for a second, but I'm in CST, and we're starting at 10. Which means that EST would start at 11. Perhaps it just has to *end* by midnight EST.

I dunno, at the point where you decide that Thursday is part of the weekend, who cares if you push the allowable start time back a couple hours? It's not like they have a 10:05 showing and a 12:05 showing, so it doesn't really matter when they start.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but school has surely been skipped for lesser reasons. :p

I'm doing my best to skip work for it (submitted a request for time off), but worst case scenario I'll be home by 1 AM & I can still get a few hours of sleep before 4:30 rolls around. I'll be at work if I can't get the day off, but hopefully I'll be able to sleep it off & see it again Thursday.

I can think of few better reasons to skip school. But then again, why does your reason even *have* to be good? I can count on one hand the things that school has done for me. In retrospect, I can't count the number of things I've done for it. The educational system has leeched away the last sixteen years of my life. I refuse to be enslaved to it any longer. I break free from the bonds which cloud my mind... isn't that worth fighting for? Isn't that worth dying for?
