Why are Koreans so melodramatic?

I've wondered this myself. Look at Korean and Korean-American spree killers, and certain ATOTers with strict Korean parents, and their silly superstitions regarding fans, and their victim complex regarding Japan, and the whole 80's/90's Korean mega-church phenomenon, and a million other things, and it makes me wonder where their culture went wrong.

EDIT: Oh yeah, there was that North Korea thing too.

Religion, or in South Korean's case, Christianity, is the cause of the insanity, or melodrama. True story, from personal experience. Every day.

It's not just Koreans. Go hang out in the South and see what some segments of the population act like....everything is overly dramatic for them.

You also forgot the racism. I've heard stories where Korea is like the 1950s American south when it comes to their attitudes on foreigners. Especially blacks and whites. Just out in the open. They also have this obsession with plastic surgery to try and make themselves appear less Asian. Go figure. That would be like Michael Jackson ranting about how much he hates honkies. ^_^

I haven't really encountered the melodrama since 99% of ethnic Koreans I've met are Canadian or American. One Chinese friend I had always referred to Korean Koreans as being weird. They export an awful lot of pop culture to the rest of Asia though. Maybe it's just Hollyweird syndrome.

You mean like every westernized country with a middle class? I used to fix computers in a dermatology/cosmetic practice and most of the clients were white women.

Yeah that's a pretty intense movie, and a very good one.

I didn't really see where the trailer was full of crying or anything, regarding "My Way". Looks like a great movie to me.

Your post made it seem as if only korean women get cosmetic surgery and are superficial for it. I implied that its common everywhere with a middle class. Do you even realize how offensive your shit is?
