Why are Jewish people normally so successful?

If they were so smart over 2000 years of history how is it that they lost their homeland, were scattered and despised, by some anyway, then get shuffled back to their homeland, basically because no one wanted them as immigrants 2000 years later? The thing I like most about jews is based on a story I heard about some jewish parents getting killed and the community took care of the kids and they turned into lawyers and doctors. they compared that to the opposite of what happens in a black community.

I call it cultural integrity. Some got it a lot more than others. Jews, Japanese, Germans, Koreans.. they got it big time. Chinese western Europe not far behind. But Indians, middle eastern and Blacks barely have it at all. They can't co operate with each and live with in civil laws so their societies are shit holes.

That's a myth. The same is said with the American media as well.

I worked with a coworker who was big on Jewish conspiracies. He talked about the Rothschild's all the time. I was starting to believe his crap so I stopped talking to him.

Thought this was common knowledge

I have a theory. Jewish people have been discriminated against for hundreds, if not thousands of years. They also have a strong sense of community. This has forced them to avoid the general workforce and create their own businesses, which fosters are sense of independence. You don't become successful working for someone else. Same thing with Asians.

Their poor treatment by society has partially led to their success in business, which has transferred to other areas over the generations.

They took the path less traveled because they were forced to and it has made them successful.

I'm not Jewish BTW, just telling it like it is. I admire the Jews for their sense of independence and overcoming obstacles.

There's a lot of successful Asians but there are very few wealthy Asians.

They are 2% of the population but yet they own over 50% of America's wealth. That is amazing! When I read that Steve Ballmer and a few other investors were in discussions to buy the Clippers I noticed that they are all Jewish. Most of today's top entrepreneurs are Jewish. Google, Facebook, Starbucks. All started by people whose religion is Jewish.

Obviously not all Jewish people are wealthy. I know it's not good to stereotype people. I find it remarkable that a culture that only represents 2% of the American population can have such a huge impact.

What are they doing differently that the majority of Americans aren't doing?

*Do they have a greater sense of community?
*Do they value education more than most cultures?
*Do they have a certain toughness that comes from being persecuted for centuries?
*Are they better at finances than most people?
*Are they really the chosen ones?

So what is it?

I think it has something to do with keeping it(knowledge and wealth) in the family.
And planning and the ability to discuss issues in a professional way seems to be key factors as family tradition.
The road to success :
* Good communication/verbal qualities.
* Ability to do long term planning.
* Social qualities.
* Keeping knowledge and wealth in the family.
* Responsibility for the family.
* Hard work.
* Cultural background.
This all allows for a higher probability for creating luck.

Living in California my parents worked for a gourmet distributor that sold food to high end restaurants and the Academy Awards. Guess who owned the business? A Jew. They sure know how to make money. He was a very nice guy and gave my parents a rave reference when applying for another job.

BTW- Ever seen the food of the rich and wonder why there is such small portions? Because it's rich. One sliver of cake and your full! The shit was fantastic! Those were good times!

All true. Education and community. Unlike Islam, Judaism encourages asking questions and seeking knowledge and challenging G-d. Asians have similar traits but, unlike Jews, they are very insecure and brittle when it comes to things like saving face or honor or some other bullshit. Asians don't make fun of themselves like Jews do.

When the Madoff scandal broke I was at the home of this old Jewish couple and they were just going on and on about how Madoff had screwed over this Jewish organization and that Jewish organization. There were so many names I got bored quickly.

Because they are cheap, save their money and probably have extra high expectations set on them by family.

Oye!

They tend to work harder, enter more lucrative professions, make better financial decisions, and look out for each others' mutual benefit within their communities. Historically, since they've been shat on more than just about any other ethnic group, with the possible exception of the Roma, they've learned the value in sticking tightly together and seldom trust non-Jews (gentiles/goyim) for anything, except the most trivial matters.

Hell yes! An old Jewish fellow taught me how to bargain/haggle, and financially it was one of the most important things I've ever learned. It's a hell of a lot of fun, too!

"Their 'best price' is never their best price, ever. That's just where you start." - Rule 1
"You don't need what they're selling more than you (or they) need your money." - Rule 2

they aren't "small" portions, they are normal sized. what you get at the cheap restaurants is a shitload of food to make up for lack of quality. that is one thing i love about fine dining - i always have room for dessert after a nice meal and appetizer. but if i go to a normal mid-level chain restaurant, i am so stuffed by the time i'm finished and have to bring home part of my meal that i don't even have room for dessert.

I don't know about the rich part, but they sure make great comedians, actors, painters. Maybe talent has a lot to do with it, if anything has to do with it, assuming "it" is true in the first place.

Then u probably have as ask why do blacks make such good athletes, gays make such good hair stylists, Polish have such problems screwing in lightbulbs, and republicans make the perfect boneheads?

Couldn't find anything about 'Jewish People,' but the fact that income varies by ethnic group seems fairly well documented.

As to why, I suspect that Social Justice Warrior would attribute it all to 'White Privilege.'

Which then raises the issue, do 'Jewish People' have White Privilege? As well as the question, do Asian people have White Privilege?

A lot of Jewish people are small and large business owners. Are you going to be rich by working for government or for yourself. They are self reliant people. At least the ones I know.

They also stick together. My parents owned a coffee shop many years ago. It was in a wealthy Jewish neighborhood. They had a very difficult time getting customers because they weren't Jewish. I bet if they were Jewish my parents would have had a greater chance at success.

There are a lot of similarities between wealthy Jewish and Chinese business people. In Asia, Chinese business people great influence.

Let see, work very darn hard, keep nose clean, not blamming anyone = success. Shocking eh?

On a side note, how can you tell a person is a Jew? Serious question and no lame joke please.

damn they're only 2% of the population? In my "white" town they are about 50% if I didn't know better. ____man's and ____stein's all over the town FB group. And I was "Jewish by association" when I went to school here.

Physical features I guess. My buddy does work for a few Jewish people in NYC and he always tells me that they have whiny voices. Obviously, that's not always true.

Maybe last names. Levine, Stein, Goldman, Goldberg are typical Jewish last names. I had read that there were a lot of Jewish people who had their last names changed or altered when they came to America.

Intermarriages between Jewish and gentiles has changed the landscape. You are not really considered Jewish if your mom is not a Jew.

I didn't know Howie Mandel was Jewish. He doesn't look it. I don't think his last name sounds Jewish, yet he is.

What is surprising is that the porn industry is loaded with Jewish actors. The industry pulls in billions a year. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

I think it's a mix of in-breeding to preserve certain genetic traits, upbringing and family wealth, which is often tied to religion.

Also, once you're ahead as a demographic, it's very hard to fall from wealth. Which is why white people still make more than black in the US. Individual failure doesn't matter much, when there's a sufficient number of your own demographic who benefit from that failure.
