Why are Intel Prices way higher then Amd's

This statement has boggle me for years why one processor company has to have their prices way to high such as "INTEL" but then you have "AMD" that are excellent processors but they are affordable by any joe shmoe. I know at one time Amd wasn't that great but they have caught up with intel and surpass them.

I notice in Pc magazines that they only compare the T-bird processors to the Pentium 4's. And yet and benchmark Amd's beat them ny a bit.

They never show the Athlon-Xp's vs. Pentium 4's so reason.

Probably because it would beat then P4's out of the water lol

if anybody has input please feel free to share
