Im tempted to pick up a 550 for about $70 but not sure I can justify the price to replace 3 remote controls.

Doesnt help. Im UK.

Thanks

Some of these prices don't seem too bad: http://www.amazon.co.uk/logite...60858%2Cp_4%3ALogitech.

£49.99 is about $75... From what I have seen, I can get it a little cheaper than that.

Id call it "expensive for a remote control" as I have never had the pleasure of using one remote for multiple items and I have never had to buy a remote control before.

Might see what Santa brings me before deciding. Maybe ebay will provide an unusually cheap remote.

I just hate when devices get out of sync and the macro doesn't work and I actually have to find one of the other remotes or god forbid... get up and fix it.

You need an IR repeater for all your devices.

well, you could press "devices" and save yourself the exertion of reaching for another remote, or the unthinkable "getting up to fix it"

I own and love my Harmony 880. But comparing a consumer-grade product from Logitech with a custom-high-end-installer-only product like URC or Crestron is like comparing a JVC receiver with an Anthem or similar reciever. Apples vs. Oranges.

There's nothing wrong with Harmony remotes. True; Crestron lead the way in total integration/home automation back in the day but these days with a cheapo Harmony remote and a few infrared repeaters, there's not much you can't do.

Out of the 3 harmony's I have owned I prefer the 890 since it came with ir and rf unlike the 1000 which requires the additional 80-100 attachment. The fact you dont have to look at the 890 since there isnt any touch screen action required is a great for me since I hate looking at the thing to operate it. After owning a 890 for a few weeks its become an extension of my hand...

-friend works retail and told me they markup the one-100-890 about 40-50 percent at retail chains so the wild differences in price I have seen them for makes sense-

LOL, or you could just press "help" on the Harmony, and it will cycle through all the devices, but I guess that would be too easy 🙂

I would love to get the 880 but I spent sooo much on my Sony RM-AV2100 years ago that I cant justify it yet. 🙂
