why are faces blurred in dreams?

Probably because the brain is reconstructing the image on the fly; whereas, while you are awake, you have enough sensory input to get the full detail. The brain just can not possibly store that much information (for most people anyway).

They're not blurred in mine. Sometimes they change, though. For instance, I might look at my friend and know who it is, but then a minute later I look at them again and realize they're someone totally different, and the story goes in a different direction.

This happens to me in my dreams. Peoples faces are blurred but I subconsciously know who they are. Weird

all faces in my dreams are crisp and clear, just like pretty much everything else. But then, I also do word puzzles and math problems, and all my dreams have at least a semblance of a plot.

hey, I've got a question: has anyone else remembered something in a dream from earlier in the same dream? I keep having this happen.

Alonelymuffin: I once had a weird dream and woke up and told my parents about it, but was actually still dreaming, then I woke up and told my friends about it, and then I woke up ...

As for faces, I don't think mine have been blurred, but like 91TTZ, faces (and pretty much everything for that matter) change. I'll be with one person, then a minute later, it's somebody else that I'm with.

had a dream where I thought I woke up and was in the bathroom taking a piss, it felt really good but then I realized I still felt like I needed to pee even though I was peeing in the dream, thats when I woke up.. THEN I actually went to the bathroom and took a leak, that felt good... No I didn't piss my self... I've probably had like 10 of those dreams... Or the other kind where you hear this beeping sound and you think its a cellphone going off, so in the dream to try to turn it off but realize it won't shut off no matter what you do, again thats when I wake up, only to realize its the alarm clock... lol

Should we tell him he's still dreaming?

me thinks:

faces are blurred because there are many details to remember. as such, it is not always possible to remember them as they are. When you remember a face, you remember only enough to recall who you're talking to. this is why it is hard to get an accurate description of someone from a person (e.g., police sketches).

I cant seem to find a redistributable (full) download on God's site, am I going to have to use the online "web" updater?

OK, so I read further into thread. Faces are also clear in my dreams, as are all details (fortunately and unfortunately, sometimes). But I don't do math puzzles of any kind. Crosswords, all day and night, but no math.
