Why are CSRs so dumb

half the time i can't understand them.....and it usually takes 2-3 calls to get things done

Because it's a bottom-feeder job that's entry level in just about every company so if they learn anything, they are promoted to another department.

Weird, but lately the CSRs I've had have been awesome. Called my bank twice recently and they were very helpful. Called a big cellphone company on the weekend and damn it the guy was the nicest csr rep I've ever had! He knew what he was doing too.
