why are coachella tickets so god damn expensive

Im going...and camping there, cant wait...

just gotta figure out how to get beer into the campground 🙁

camping with no beer and no flames for cooking == the suck

the lineup - the bands/djs/performers are NOT cheap

i worked in the electronic music industry for 3 years as a photographer, from nyc to dc... people dont understand how much it really costs to throw an event.

one of the biggest exspenses can b insurance, which for some large one off events can be in the millions of $$

the face is not what bothers me, the face value of the tickets are about $90, but now people want between 300 - 500 dollars, that's what bothers me

Just a FYI to anyone going to Coachella - Radiohead had to cancel their show in Melbourne, Australia tonight because Thom Yorke had a serious throat/ear infection. They're still scheduled to play on Saturday but there's a possibility he might not be well enough by then.

Once the tix sold out prices skyrocketed... and 90 bux isn't bad for a huge list of great great bands.

Don't feel so bad if you miss it - it's gonna be 102F on Sat and 106F on Sun

😛

Pretty hot for those poor Goths all dressed in black on Sun . . .

It may be a "steal" but it's the WORST time of the year to have an OUTdoor concert . . . Hot-as-Hell during the day 106*F on Sunday!!!! . . . and windy-as-hell at night. 😛

Early April would be more intelligent . . . i went the 2nd year and hated the weather (even though i live relatively nearby in the hi desert)

Well I got my tickets after they sold out.

I travelled 300 miles in 2 days to get tickets.

The ticket prices on ebay went like this

higher than ticketmaster, (sat tickets sell out) HUGE HUGE HUGE jump, 400/pair easy, then this last week, back to ticket master prices, probably rock bottom right now

if you find a local seller you can probably pay less than face for tickets right now

Of the 4 I've heard of...I'd only be interested in listening to two of them. 🙂 Radiohead and The Cure. 🙂

i had the opportunity to buy them for face value, and i snoozed. so i lost. my friends are gonna have a good time without me 🙁
but if thom doesn't perform, then i'll actually be incredibly grateful. that was my main reason for wanting to go 🙂

my sisters bought 6 tickets @ $90/each for themselves and friends, they could've made a couple grand ebaying them. oh well, they had a good time and they said the concert was awesome, the pixies especially so.
