I have two accounts - one AT&T and one Sprint (I pay my parents AT&T bill and me and my wife are on Sprint). It seems like there's a billing mistake every month! Last month Sprint charged me an extra $100 for something I don't even remember how they justified, this month they charge me for a family plan PLUS individual plans for each of the lines. Ugh. AT&T has been charging me for a data plan for a non-data phone and I've had to call two months in a row to get it resolved.

Now, they're usually very nice about it and quickly credit my account but, seriously, why can't cell phone companies get their billing right? All of my other bills are on autopay but I have to go through every page of my cellphone bills because I just don't trust these people...

I hate being a conspiracy theorists but a part of me wonders if these aren't really mistakes, and they just hope that people don't notice..

You know, the one nice thing about Verizon home voice and data service is that the bill is always $92 and change every month. Consistency is nice!

I'm also a snobby Verizon user but I have to say that they do screw things up if you call them for anything.

I have both Verizon and Sprint cell phone plans. Neither bill has ever had an issue.

I've had Nextel, Verizon, and now AT&T. Nextel never screwed anything up... until they merged with Sprint. Verizon's bill was just a PITA, and I had several problems. I've had a couple of small problems w/ my AT&T bill, caused by a rep not doing something completely (i.e. enabling Family Texting on 3 lines out of 4)... other than that, AT&T has been the best.

Sprint is so f-ed up, I love it. In the 1.5 yrs I've been with them, I've gone to pay my bill and found that it is already mysteriously paid.

I have had Verizon for damn newar 8 years. haven't had to many problems with billing or service. Now the people in the store and costumer service on the other hand.

about 2 months (or so) ago i went into Verizon for some help. I got myself a Samsung Omnia. Well they came out with a update for the phone. you could do it on your computer but the software wouldn't work with Vist 64.

i was in town and figured i would stop in and see if they would update it for me. Now before i begin i should mention i have no hearing in my left ear and half in my right. While i can speak clearly i still slure my R's and well sound like a young boy right before puberty.99% of the time i have no trouble with people.

so i go talk to the tech in the back. i asked him if he could update my phone and why. his only response was "no". thats it.
i said excuse me? you won't update it? again he just said no.

so i go "i thought that was your job? " he goes "i thought that was your job" slurring his speech and speaking well like me. then he starts laughing at me.

i just walked over to the manager and he said there was nothing he can do. so i asked for his manager. he gave me the 1800 number to Verizon.

so i called a different Verizon store to get the managers number. the manager at the other store was shocked at what happened and gave me the district managers number.

i called him and he was upset and not very happy. he said that was not acceptable and he will talk to them. he asked what i wanted. i said all i want is a apology from the tech. he said he would call back in a week. 2 weeks latter he calls back and says he talked to the manager and tech. they both admitted they didn't act right and he would like to set up a time for me to come into the store and they would apologize. i said anytime just let me know.

2 weeks latter i hadn't heard from them. So now I'm pissed and figure he is just trying to blow me off. So i look on the INTERNET and find a different number. i talk to someone and they say they will have the district managers manager call me . The next day i get a call from the district manager and he said that he won't have the tech or manager apologize in person but will send a letter. i was a little ticked at that. i don't think i was asking for much.

So i do a little digging and get the CEO of Verizon number and email. i email him with details and call his office letting them know what happened. the next day i get a CS manager calling me and saying that what happened was not acceptable and what would it take to make me happy. i said let me out of my contract so i can switch to AT&T or T-Mobile. I told her how i felt this was not important to them and that they thought i would just forget it. All i wanted from the start was a apology but now i want nothing to do with Verizon.

She said she would be happy to do that but wanted to talk to me and see if we can come up with a solution for me to stay. Eventually i got my bill paid for the month, a letter from Verizon saying that that would NEVER happen again and a apology in person from the manager and district manager (which is what i wanted from the start). The CS manager also said this would be on all of there permanent records and will effect there employment.

a bunch of bullshit just to get a apology.

Waggy -- what a bunch of douchebags. I'm glad you finally got an apology, but what's wrong with people?

I've used more or less all the providers available up here in Canaduh, and haven't really been satisfied with any of them. The one I have now isn't too bad, but still not anywhere near "good" IMO.

It should cost $5/month for unlimited everything and no interruptions in service, dammit.

Edit, when I first started knowing anything about cell phones, it was an old ass motorola that would last about 25 minutes till it would be microwaving your brain and the battery would die. BUT it was $15/month despite quite a bit of usage. Why is it sooo much more expensive today?

When I got my first contract with Telus, text messages were free. There was no such THING as charging for text messages. Now, you need to buy a "package" otherwise you pay per text... Imagine paying per post on this forum.

It makes it easier for them to steal money from the people who don't look at their bills and just pay them. CHA CHING! Bank error in At&t's favor!

When I first switched to AT&T for the iPhone, I went over my first bill really closely to make sure all the billings were correct and my information was right. It was and in the 1.5 years I've been with them my bill has been within pennies of that first bill every time. I don't auto-pay it but I do just check the total online and pay that.

After T-mobile once charged me for an extra two months or so on my bill, since they had my CC on file, I decided to never keep it on file again and I made a one-time use number for every single online payment after that.

before I got verizon. T-mobile is pathetic in ny state anyway, no damn coverage at all. Verizon is truly every bit as awesome as they say on Tv. There is a single spot at work in the bathroom I lose coverage and otherwise never, ever, ever anywhere at all do I lose my bars. they are always with me. Yes, I can hear you now!
