Why are buddy flicks with guys normal and with Girl Buddy flicks, the women are called Dikes?

i don't get it. is it a double standard?

In guy buddy flicks they talk about women in all sorts of negative terms, that's normal.

In girl buddy flicks they talk about guys badly and all of a sudden, they are DIKES.

when you think of it, that really sux.

I've *never* heard of girl buddy flicks with the women described as dikes.

Stepmom, Thelma and Louise, Beaches, Steel Magnolias for a few examples.
