Why are all the women in Breaking Bad portrayed as Bitches?

I guess i'm not deep enough in BB to make a good conclusion, but I'm so far as Season 3 Episode 8. It's very interesting to see how the women characters are portrayed. Walter's wife (Skyler) seems to be a nagging bitch that complains about each and every little thing. I like how he puts it early in the show "Can you crawl out of my ass" (or something like that).

Skyler forces a intervention and her tone with his cancer seems to be like "you caused your own cancer"? I felt a little sorry for Walter and angry at Skyler and these other women who seemed to try to push treatment on him (for their own benefit). Walter kept his cancer secret. I can completely understand this, most men don't like to mention medical problems, they shield it from their family. They don't want it to affect their family.

Skyler demands a divorce, Walter tries to make things right. Skyler felt fucking her old boss would force Walter to leave. He eventually signs the divorce papers and leaves. Skyler is still on his ass when she calls him mentioning each and every item on the divorce papers that he's agreeing to pay for (child support, food, clothing, education, etc). I feel this is a perfect situation, he's agreeing to pay for that shit, just let him do that and move on. She's complains how she doesn't want it to be the "drug money"!!!!!

Hank's wife goes into bitch fest mode by blaming her husband's medical situation on the DEA supervisor, his partner, eventually Hank etc.... It made no sense. Hank walked up to Jesse's house and knocked the living shit out of him, which resulted in his suspension, which resulted in his weapon and badge being removed.

Jane Margolis seems to be a USING kind of bitch that crashes with jessie, once she realizes he's a drug dealer with money. She does have sex with him and seems to introduce Jessie to heroin use. She then tries to blackmail Walter and feels the money 400K is somehow hers????? Walter tries to know some sense in her by indicating that Jessie is on drugs and needs to clean himself up. In other words walter was not STEALING Jessie's share, he simply was holding onto it until he could clean himself up.

Seems walter and all these other men live in Bitch City, NM, where the women act like embarrassing, nagging, princess syndrome Bitches that have nothing else better to do than badger and harassing their husbands.

Bitchy compared to whom?

I must have missed the part where any of the characters on that show were the least bit sympathetic after Season 1.

You must not be married. Or not for very long.

Yeah, the women on that show were all terrible. As opposed to the men, who were shining paragons of virtue.

That is the new thing in Hollywood. Now that we no longer need the 90's "Girl Power, Better than the Men!" archetypal woman to sell to a mainstream audience (well outside of Agent Carter) now women are allowed to be flawed while staying credible.

I haven't heard of BB's women being an example of that, mostly it is Cersei Lannister that is the big example.

I feel like Skyler is only a bitch if you view Walter White as a hero instead of the villain of the show.

Well, Marie is a klepto, but other than that she was pretty reasonable and supportive of Hank through his troubles.

Skyler didn't start off as a bitch. Walt drove her to it with the constant lying, she couldn't trust him and eventually couldn't hide the contempt she felt for him.

Considering what they had to put up with, both of them were heroically even tempered. My problem with Skyler was that her actions were weak and wishy-washy. Whatever bitchiness she displayed she had a right to display.

He's only at Season 3. Let's hear his opinion after he finishes the series. The characters do change a bit as the show progresses.

Come to think of it... there weren't many characters on BB that i'd want to hang out IRL.

You forgot Jane Margolis - season 2.

Who blackmailed Walter to give Jessie his cut of a recent sell.

Walt then sits back and watches her choke on her own vomit after she got high on smack.

I bet the OP loved that last part.

Wow I totally didn't notice that they all were bitches! It was bad too, I recall hating Skyler for the whole series and Hanks wife was even worse!

Maybe a few of the writers were going through a divorce/ had trouble with their marriage? I have a hard time believing many women wrote on the show.

Well, in all fairness, Walter was living a secret life doing something highly illegal and putting his family in danger from the associates of his illegal activities in the process.

Which men were not worse than the women? Steve Gomez and Hank were mostly okay, but other than that the men made the women look like saints.

Yeah, I remember hating Marie early on and later she was one of my favorite characters.

Are you F-ing serious, she looks like a MAN.

She's a Kelpto bitch, who couldn't admit to stealing a tiara for a baby shower.

What in the actual fuck. She's easily the most attractive of the main characters. How in the world can you say she looks like a man?

I think the klepto thing gets de-emphasized later in the series.

She's not unattractive IMO.

I thought she was fairly attractive as well, but the plastic surgery between seasons (1 and 2 I think?) was pretty jarring.

**edit **
Oops. Thought we were talking about Skyler. Nevermind.

If by main characters, you mean "women who appeared in more than 12 episodes," then your options are Marie or Skyler. Honestly, I think that's a push.

Wow - neither wife was good looking in that show AT ALL. ****ing gross, maybe they are *decent* in real life but to say they are hot is something I never thought I'd hear.

And about the show, I just naturally thought how they acted was pretty realistic... neither were put in very good situations with their husbands/families.
