Why are all the contestants on Deal or No Deal morbidly obese?

Is it just me? Does it just seem this way?

Is it because the shows promoters think this is the perfect cross section of American audience relates to?

they pick people who are "less fortunate"/they have a genuine reason why they are on the show......i dont see how that relates to their weight, but yeah...

Eh.. I classify as being "poor" as far as those things go (as I'm sure others on the forum do) and I doubt they'd let me on because I look too fit.
